Perry Players to present Christmas plays this week
Staff, Community Reports
This weekend, members of the
Perry Players will present a spe
cial Christmas production of
O.Henry’s Gift of the Magi and A
Christmas Memory, by special
arrangement with the estate of
Truman Capote.
The presentation will be at
Perry Players Theatre at 909 Main
St., across from the New Perry
Hotel, Dec. 5, 6 and 7 at 8 p.m.;
Dec. 8 will be at 2:30 p.m.
The show is a special benefit
for the Perry Players Building
Fund and is a part of the 21st
Christmas at the Crossroads.
Cast members will include
Jennifer Collier, A 1 Pearson, Mark
Strandburg, Amy Crisp and Lu

between Saturday college games and Sunday? Old pros Tom Watson and
Fred Couples carried away most of the loot, but young Tiger Woods is
probably responsible for reviving a sagging television audience.
The 20-year old Woods is an incredible talent and will be an asset to
the PGA tour.
Winners
to beat them. Marist lost just once
to a Georgia team, a 32-31 setback
to Thomas County Central in the
Corky Kell Classic Aug 31. The
War Eagles wrapup Chappell’s
coaching career.
Elbert County won the class
AA state championship last year
before moving to AAA. They are
still alive in a bid for the AAA title
this year. Elbert will host Lakeside
in a matchup of 11-1 teams. At
home, we like Elbert County.
Americus will host Washington
Wilkes while surprising
Richmond Hill will be at
Washington County to face anoth
er strong Rick Tomberlin team.
Look for both region 4-AA teams
to advance with Washington
Wilkes eliminating Americus and
Washington County bursting
Richmond Hill’s bubble.
Carrollton should handle
Lovett in the AA north quarterfi
nals, while Dacula wins at home
against Westminister.

However, any canned food items,
along with toys for children up to
12 years of age is accepted. For
more information, contact Saul at

win over Clinch County and will
have to contend with another 2A
team this week in Charlton
County. The Indians lost only to
AAAA Brunswick, and had a win
over AAA Crisp County.
Charlton has never beaten a
C.B. Cornett team. Macon County
will need to produce a little more
offense, with a little variety out of
the wishbone. Charlton, as most
other teams, will crowd the mid
dle against Macon County’s
straight-ahead running attack.
On the other hand, Charlton
will have to find a way to pene
trate Macon’s tenacious defense.
So far, nobody has been able to do
it. The winner of this games
rotates to the north bracket for the
semi finals, to play the Bowdon-
Crawford survivor. At home, we
like the Bulldogs.
We also like Bowdon to elimi
nate Crawford County, Turner to
beat Putnam County and
Manchester to surprise Buford.
