Jonathan Jones traveled to
Dublin for the West Laurens
Invitational and came home to
Perry with a first place trophy.
“Jonathan did a good job,”
Panther head wrestling coach
Sean Moistner said of his
wrestling prodigy. “The West
Laurens Invitational had 14 tough
teams, so we’re all proud of the
job he did.”
Jones, who qualified for state
last season, pinned his opponents
in all three matches en route to the
championship in the 130-pound
division.
Three other Panthers placed in
the tournament held Dec. 13 and
14. Travis Passinault won third
place in the 135-pound category.
Brian Ramey and Eric Gaston
place both placed fourth in the
tournament.
Moistner admitted that the
Panthers made some mistakes but
was pleased, especially consider
