Dramatic film offered at Andrew United Methodist Church
Staff, Community Reports
Dave Roever was a young sol
dier in Vietnam when more than
40 percent of his skin was burned
off by a grenade exploding in his
hand. He went blind in his right
eye and deaf in his right ear.
Roever’s testimony about not
only his physical recovery, but his
emotional and spiritual healing is
most dramatic, according to offi
cials at Andrew United Methodist
Church of Kathleen.
Through the faithfulness of
God and the loving support of his
wife, Brenda, Dan Roever has
experienced a restoration so com
plete that his message has been
heard around the world.
Scars that Heal is the movie
shares this true story through Dave
Roever’s own words. While on the
outside, he remains scarred from
the grenade, he says, “My soul is
not scarred. My spirit is not
patched together. I’m proud of my
scars and stripes. Maybe my life
hasn’t been easy but these scars
tell a story”
Scars That Heal is a documen
tary-style film with dramatic reen
actments from World Wide
Pictures, the motion picture min
istry of the Billy Graham
Evangelical Association.
The Rev. Gene Bates, pastor,
and the members of Andrew
United Methodist Church will
share this film with the public Jan.
12, at 6:30 p.m.
For further information, all the
