Barry and Melissa Cowell
Hall, Cowell exchange
vows in Atlanta church
Melissa Hall of Atlanta became
the bride of Barry Cowell of
Bradenton, Fla. on Nov. 23, 1996
at Holy Cross Catholic Church in
Atlanta.
The bride is the daughter of
Emerson and Sandra Hall of
Centerville and the groom is the
son of Helen Butcher of Pigeon
Forge, Tenn.
The Rev. Larry Niese officiated
at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Agnes
Baumann and Suzanne Webb of
Warner Robins, Janelle Dannelly
of Fairbum and Trumpet Soloist
Lloyd McDonald of
Milledgeville.
Tiny pearls and beads adorned
the fitted bodice and sleeves of the
bride’s gown. Pearls and sequins
accented the hemline of the dress
and cathedral length train. Her veil

April 19 wedding plans
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin James
Tarbutton Jr. of Sandersville
announce the engagement of their
daughter, Anne Rankin Tarbutton
of Atlanta, to John Samuel Mori
of Atlanta, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jean Albert Mori of Atlanta.
Miss Tarbutton is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Vance Olney Rankin Jr. of
Atlanta and the late Mr. and Mrs.
Benjamin James Tarbutton of
Sandersville. She is a graduate

Harris celebrate
50th anniversary
Helen and A. Lane Harris Jr.
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary Dec. 22 with a sur
prise party at their home given by
their children and grandchildren.
Lane is a retiree from Medusa
Cement Company and his wife,
the former Helen McEarchem, is
a homemaker.
Their children, Wayne Harris,
Steve Harris and David Harris,
are ail of Perry. They have eight
grandchildren.

Methodist Church in Warner
of The Westminster Schools in
Atlanta and Princeton
University, where she earned a
bachelor’s degree and was a
member of Kappa Alpha Theta
sorority and the University
Cottage Club.
Miss Tarbutton graduated with
honors from the Goizueta
Business School at Emory
University, where she was a
Robert W. Woodruff fellow. She
is employed by the Georgia
Department of Technical and
Adult Education.
Mr. Mori is the grandson of
Mrs. Samuel Augustus Nunn of
Perry and the late Mr. Nunn and
the late Mr. and Mrs. George
Mori of Jackson, Miss. He is a
graduate of North Springs High
School in Atlanta and Wake
Forest University, where he
earned a bachelor’s degree, cum
laude, and was a member of
Sigma Chi fraternity.
Mr. Mori also graduated from
the Goizueta Business School at
Emory University. He is
employed by Mori Luggage and
Gifts as Vice President,
Merchandising and Marketing.
An April 19 wedding is
planned at the Sandersville
United Methodist Church in
Sandersville.

The bride wore a gown of dia
mond white silk. The fitted
bodice featured scalloped short
sleeves and had daisy appliques
which were accented with pearls
and sequins. At the waist line of
the scooped back dress was a
cascade of roses which lead into
a chapel length train.
The bridal veil was a head
band adorned with matching silk,
daisy appliques, pearls and
sequins which held a waist
length veil.
The white bouquet was of
fresh cut lilies, roses and carna
tions and was accented with
greenery and white cascading
ribbons.
Matron of honor was
Katherine McDonald, sister of
the bride.
Bridesmaids were Kristie
Hill, Aimee Jones, Julie Moore,
and Allison Garrett.
Best man was Wyman
Herbert, father of the groom.
Ushers were Jay Herbert,
brother of the groom, Jody
Burnett of Warner Robins, Matt
Coker of Pine Mt., N.C., Shaun

Joiners celebrate 50th anniversary
A.C.and Dorothy Joiner will
celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary with a dinner at their
home Jan. 30.
The couple was married at the
Toombs County Courthouse in
Lyons, Ga. Mrs. Joiner is the for
mer Dorothy Hutchison and is
retired from Robins Air Force
Base.
Jackson and Jeff Desilets of
Warner Robins.
A reception was held in
Fellowship Hall of the church. It
was hosted by the parents of the
bride, Mr. and Mrs. Edward C.
Forbes.
Servers were Lezlee Small
and Tonya Kitchens of Warner
Robins, and Kari Underwood
and Kerri Massey of Perry.
A rehearsal dinner was held at
Houston Lake Country Club and
was hosted by the groom’s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wyman
Herbert.
After a wedding trip to Las
Vegas, Nev., the newleyweds
will reside in Americus.
The bride is employed at
Tolleson Lumber Cos. in Perry.
The groom is an employee of
Sumter Ford Lincoln Mercury in
Americus.
Showers, Luncheon
A bridal luncheon was held
Nov. 22. It was hosted by the
mother and grandmother of the
bride.
A bridal shower hosted by
Patsy Hatten of Kathleen was
held Oct. 12.
Tonya Kitchens and Evie Bell
hosted a bridal tea in Byron on
Oct. 27.
On Nov. 9, a miscellaneous
shower was hosted by Molly
Smith, Faye Barry, Allison
Garrett. Kristie Hill, Aimee
Jones, Gale Langston, Julie
Moore, and Shirley Sichelstiel.
Anne Rankin Tarbutton
A.C. Joiner retired from Robins
Air Force Base and is a World War
II veteran, having seen action at
Normandy Beach and the Battle of
the Bulge.
Their children are Allen Joiner
of Hayneville and Janice Seymore
of Warner Robins. They have
eight grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
