Dear Chamber Friends,
I am proud to call Perry home. In the year
since I became President/CEO of the Perry
Area Chamber of Com
merce, you have given me
overwhelming support.
That support gives me the
encouragement to dream
and implement new ideas.
I have never worked with
a more superior group of
volunteers. I never have to
ask twice for assistance with
community projects. I un-
derstand now why Perry has been so success
ful in the past There is a tremendous spirit of
team work amongst the leadership. I will do
everything I can to live up to the standards set
by past and present leaders.
I look forward to the year ahead. We are
making bold moves in several committee ar
eas. If you are not already actively involved
in the Chamber of Commerce, I urge you to
do so. The contacts, skills and sense of com
munity pride you will gain are immeasurable.
In closing, I would like publicly to thank
Kathy Powers and Billie Ann Prickett. They
are a joy to work with, and are as committed
as I am to improve our service each day.
Sincerely,
Hayley K. Godbee
President/CEO

Dear Chamber Members:
It is an honor and a priv
ilege to serve as Chairman
of the Perry Area Chamber
of Commerce in 1997. Asa
native of Perry, I look for
ward to the opportunity to
give back to Perry and
Houston County a small
portion of what Perry and
Houston County have giv-
en me the last 33 years. As Chairman of the
Chamber of Commerce, I will strive to main
tain the quality of leadership that has been set
by the previous Chairman during the last 42
years.
In November of 1996, the Chamber Board
of Directors, Committee Chairmen and local
public officials met at the chamber retreat to
set the goals and objectives for 1997. This
was a productive meeting which established
an aggressive agenda for the chamber in the
upcoming year. New programs will be imple
mented, old ones will be improved upon and
the quality of excellence that the Perry Area
Chamber of Commerce is known for will be
continued.
Your Chamber of Commerce faces many
new challenges and opportunities in the year
1997. With our distinguished Board of Direc
tors, excellent staff and hardworking volun
teers, we will meet these challenges and strive
to promote business and improve the quality
of life in the Perry area.
Very truly yours,
Robert T. Tuggle 111

Dear Chamber Friends,
It has been both an honor and pleasure to serve
the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce as Chair
man of the Board for 1996. Personally, this expe-
rience has afforded me the op
portunity to work with what I
consider to be the best group
of volunteers anyone could
possibly hope to assemble.
The 1996 year is a year
characterized by great
change. The most significant
of these changes being of
leadership and the relocation
of the Chamber offices. Hayley Godbee may
have been new in her position as President with
the Perry Chamber in 1996 but from the start she
has been a natural fit. The Chamber relocated its
offices mid-year to the Welcome Center which
also proved to be another winning combination.
I would like to take this opportunity to pub
licly thank Hayley, the Executive Board, the
Board of Directors, Committee Chairpersons and
the scores of volunteers that have made 1996 a
most successful year. Additionally, I would like
to thank my employer, Sun Trust Bank, Middle
Georgia, N.A. and my previous employer, Na
tionsßank, for allowing me the time to serve my
Chamber.
Yours Truly,
P. Andrew Flowers
1996 Chairman
