Perry downs East Laurens
for Region 3-AA South win

The Perry Lady Panthers built a
19-15 half time lead over East
Laurens Jan 24 in Dublin, and
went on to win a region 3-AA
South matchup 53-41.
The Lady Panthers,4-1 in the
subregion, will meet the only class
AA team to beat them this year Jan
31 as Dodge County will come to
Perry. Dodge is unbeaten.
Against East Laurens, April
Fendley’s 13 led a contingent of
eight Lady Panthers who scored
points in the victory. Monique
Kendrick scored 10, Felecia Scott
8, with Teresa Scott and Shaniquia
Howard tossing in 7 each.
Tiffany Stuck with 12 and
Tiffany Peacock with 11 were tops

The Perry Lady Panthers continue
their quest for a 20-win season as
they knocked off Bleckley County
for the second time this season with
a 65-29 win Jan 21 at the Eric P.
Staples gymnasium in Perry.
It was the 13th win against three
setbacks for the Lady Panthers, who
could get to 20 with a sweep of their
remaining regular season games
In all, Max Vickers watched 11
different Lady Panthers contribute to
the scoring as Monique Kendrick led
the attack with 14 and Felicia Scott
added 13.
Again it was the quick defense the
Lady Panthers throw at the opposi
tion that stymied the visitors from
Cochran. Autumn Pounds managed
10 for the Royals.
Meanwhile, the woes continued

Perry improved it’s overall
record to 14-3 with the victory, with
East Laurens dropping to 10-7.
After four straight tough losses,
the Panthers jumped on East
Laurens for 41 points in the second
half to coast to a 70-57 victory.
Reggie Clark led four Panthers
in double figures with a game
high 20 points. Daniel Harvey
continued to play excellent bas
ketball with 16 points. Donte
Holmes tossed in 13 and Latrell
Simon had 10.
James King scored 12 for the
Falcons, who dropped their sixth
straight 3-AA South decision and
15th overall against just two wins.
Perry improved to 7-10 overall
and 2-3 in the subregion.

overtime before losing on Jan 10, the
Panthers have seen leads evaporate in
the fourth quarter against Northside
and Americus before losing a close
one to Bleckley County 65-61.
This one was close most of the
way before Bleckley (7-9, 3-3 in 3-
AA south) slipped by with the win.
Perry, (6-10, 1-3) was led by
Daniel Harvey with 18 points,
Reggie Clark with 11 and Dannorris
Harvey with 10.
Four Royals scored in double fig
ures led by Willie Farrow and Morris
Ross with 17 each. Ernest Lawson
scored 14 and Teri Farrow 10 for
Bleckley County.
The Perry teams have a return
match with Dodge County at home
Jan 31.
