Fisharama part of weekend sports
shows at Agricenter Feb. 7-9

Anglers looking to reel in the
best deals on everything from
tackle to taxidermy shouldn’t miss
the Georgia Wildlife Federation
Fisharama, Feb. 7,8, and 9 at the
Georgia Agricenter.
With thousands of square feet
covered with fishing gear, anglers
are bound to find great deals.
In 1997 the Georgia Wildlife
Federation continues its tradition
of gathering dealers, guides,
craftsmen, professional fishermen
and celebrity speakers who can
make you more successful on the
water.
At the Fisharama, you can see
all the new equipment and tackle,
attend seminars to get tips on how
to catch the big ones, see live dis
plays of Georgia game fish, and
look at taxidermy displays.
The Fisharama seminar sched
ule includes celebrity anglers like
Fred “Taco” Bland, a competitive
fisherman for 28 years who has
won tournaments including the
Alabama Bass Fisherman
Tournament and the Birmingham
Bassmaster’s Open Invitational.
Come listen to fishing tips from
Brandon Hawkins, the youngest
member of the “Bass Tubs”
Professional Fisherman Team, and
watch him pitch and flip his rod
and reel.

Joey Mines, star of “Outdoors
With Joey Mines” on the Sports
South network, when he conducts
seminars on the basics of Hybrid
and Stripper fishing.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Houston County Board of Commissioners
meetings held the third Tuesday of each month at
the Annex Building in Warner Robins, Georgia, have
been rescheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. in order to
improve public accessibility. Commission meetings
held the first Tuesday of each month at Perry City
Hall will still begin at 10:00 a.m. The public is invit
ed to attend both meetings.

Perry Middle eighth graders top seeded in county tournament

The top-ranked Perry Middle
School eighth grade girls have
earned a bye in the first round of
the Houston County Basketball
Tournament.
The Lady Panthers will play
the winner of the Northside (7-5,
fourth) vs. Rumble (5-7, fifth)
game Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. at Warner
Robins Middle School.
Northside and Rumble play
Jan. 29 at 3:30 at Northside. Other
games that day feature Feagin

will be offered on Saturday.
Registration begins at 9:30, and
the six-hour course begins at 10.

ber to sign-up, successfully com
plete the course, and you’ll have
everything you need for anew
hunting license.
Show hours are Friday 1-9
p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.,
and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Admission is $6 for adults, and
$3 for senior citizens and children
ages 6-12. Children under age 6
get in free. Parking is always free
at the Georgia Wildlife
Federation’s Fisharama.

Robins game Jan. 30 at 3:30 at
Warner Robins.
Both winners advance to the
finals Feb. 1 at 12:30 p.m. at
Rumble Middle School.
