Former Big B closing Feb. 9

The former Big B store on Macon Road will be
closing its doors Feb. 9.
According to a release from Revco D.S., Inc.,it is
one of 24 stores in Georgia the company is closing.
The release states that the former Big B stores do
not meet Revco’s guidelines for profitability and
return on investment and will be closed.
Revco will operate 313 stores in Georgia after
these have been closed.
Although the stores will be closing, customers’
prescriptions will be transferred to nearby Revco
stores, according to the release.
The prescriptions for the Macon Road store will be
sent to the store on Main Street. The Main Street
store is not slated for closure.
GED offered Feb. 11, 18, 22
The General Educational Development (GED) test
is scheduled to be administered at Middle Georgia
Technical Institute, 1311 Corder Road, Warner
Robins on the following dates: Feb. 11,18 and 22.
There is limited seating. Only the first 30 appli
cants will be allowed to test at this time.
A cash payment of $7 per test (there are five sec
tions) or $35 is required at the time of testing. All
GED test fees are nonrefundable. Applicants must
have a current photo ID at the time of testing. Special

age prior to testing. Testing will begin promptly at
7:30 a.m. Once the timed testing begins, there is a
total time allowance of 7 hours and 35 minutes for all
five parts of the GED. If you have specific questions
regarding the test or procedures, please call 929-6800.
Ponder honored
George Ponder, Director of Ag Operations with
Montezuma’s Southern Frozen Foods, of Perry,
recently completed requirements of the 1996 Class of
the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum Foundation, Inc. Dr.
Fred C. Davison, former Chairman of the GALFF
Board, spoke at the December ceremony honoring the
1996 graduates during Institute Six in Jekyll Island.
