New Hope sets March 2-7 revival

Evangelist Chris Owensby of
Grenada, Miss., will conduct an
area-wide revival crusade at New
Hope Church of God, from March
2-7.
According to church pastor, the
Rev. Jeff Poole, Owensby is wide
ly recognized for the outstanding
anointed campaigns he conducts
across America and abroad.
Poole said services will begin
at 7 p.m. each day.
The church is located at 2290
Ga. 127 East near Arena Road.
Reynolds to lead spiritual
warfare conference
Blanche Reynolds will be the
speaker at the Spiritual Warfare
Conference to be held Feb. 28 at 7
p.m. and March 1, at 2 and 7 p.m.
at the Comfort Inn, 1602 Sam
Nunn Blvd. The public is wel
come.
Reynolds is an ordained minis
ter. During the past 25 years,
Reynolds has traveled the United
States, South America and
Canada, preaching and teaching
God’s word with signs following.
Reynolds has actively used
television ministry, home videos,
radio ministry and has authored
14 books.
According to a news release,
Reynolds is the wife of Olen
Reynolds, who serves as president
of the directors of Kingdom Voice
Ministries.
Childrens Bible Drill
coming to Rehoboth
Rehoboth Baptist Church is
sponsoring a Children’s Bible
Drill. This is a six-week program
for children in grades 3-6. Class
will be held on Sunday evenings
at 7 p.m. during the evening ser
vice.
The class began Feb. 16.
Children will be challenged to
learn Bible verses and quote them
from memory as well as learning
the books of the Bible and finding
them in the Bible. This class will
be led by Jana Martin.

Members of Rehoboth Baptist
Church will have a called meeting
on Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, follow
ing the evening service. This
meeting is to discuss plans to
expand the church sanctuary and
parking lot. Members of the con
gregation are encouraged to
attend.

Lutherans plan special
Lenten services
“Questions for Disciples” is
the theme of this year’s Lenten
observance at Mount Calvary
Lutheran Church of Warner
Robins.
Special services will be held
the six Wednesdays of Lent at 7
p.m. Services will focus on ques
tions Jesus asked his disciples to
deepen their relationship with
him.
For the first service, the Rev..
Gerhard C. Michael, Jr. pastor of
Mount Calvary, will draw on
Jesus’ question, “What good is it
for a man to gain the whole world
yet forfeit his own soul?”?” to
answer the “Question of Values.”
A second dimension of the
congregation’s Lenten discipline
will be the devotional reading of
the Gospel according to St. Mark.

hunt March 27
Perry Presbyterian Church’s
Easter egg party and hunt will be
held March 27.
Salvation Army leader to
speak in Fort Valley
Commissioner Andrew Miller,
National Commander of the
Salvation Army, LU.S.A. from
1986 to 1990, will be holding a
series of revival meetings at Fort
Valley United Methodist Church,
Feb. 23-26.
As National Commander,
Miller was in charge of all reli
gious and humanitarian work of
The Salvation Army in the
Continental United States. He
came to this position after he had
previously served five years as
the Territorial Commander in the
Southern Territory, wnich
includes Georgia and 14 other
Southern states.
Miller is a fourth generation
Salvationist, and is a graduate of
Akron University and The
Salvation Army School for
Officer training in New York City.
He also attended Asbury College
in Wilmore, Ky., where he is a
member of the Board of Trustees.
Pastor James Hamlin of Fort
Valley United Methodist Church,
said Miller will preach at 11 a..m.
and 7 p.m. on Sunday, and at noon
and 7 p.m. on Monday through
Wednesday.
Additional highlights of these
meetings include music by the
Chancel Choir of Fort Valley
United Methodist Church at both
Sunday services, the Salvation
Army Regional Band at the
Monday evening service, and the
First Baptist Church Choir at the
TUesday evening service.
There will be a crafts program
each evening for children in
Kindergarten through sixth grade.
A nursery will be provided for
both Sunday services and for the
remaining evening services,
Hamlin said.
“In the spirit of the Salvation
Army, we will also host a free
meal for the entire community on
Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Church
Fellowship Hall,” said Hamlin.
No reservations are required. “We
encourage every person in Fort
Valley and the surrounding area to
come and enjoy the good music,
