Ihe deadline for public notices is at
noon on Monday before publication on

each Wednesday in the Houston Times-
Joumal newspaper, the legal organ for
Houston County and the city of Perry.
Effective July 1, 1995, public notice
advertising rates in the state of Georgia for
foreclosure ads and other non-specified
legal advertisements are $lO per 100
words or fraction thereof for the first four
insertions and $9 per 100 words or frac
tion thereof for more than 4 insertions.

Sealed Proposals for constructing the
"Sanitary Sewer Improvements - Phase I
- the lashley Area of Houston County,
Georgia" will be received at the
Commissioner's Board Room, Houston
County Annex, 200 Carl Vinson Parkway
in Warner Robins, Georgia until 2:00 P.M.
o'clock legal prevailing time on Thursday,
March 6, 1997, at which time and place
they will be publicly opened and read
aloud. No bid may be withdrawn after the
closing time for the receipt of bids for a
period of sixty (60) calendar days.
The Work to be done consists of fur
nishing all materials and equipment and
performing all labor necessary to construct
the following:
+9o46 L.F. sanitary sewer expansion,
highway crossing, and all incidental work
~ required, for a complete installation. /
Payment: of the Contract amount will
be made on a periodic basis on applica
tions for payment from the contractor and
approved by the engineer based on work
accomplished, products furnished and
products stored at the site. Such progress
payment requests shall be submitted by
the contractor no later than the 1 st day of
each month, with the 25th day of the
month as the cut off, during the term of the
Contract and shall be paid by the Owner
within thirty (30) days after receipt of
approved progress payment requests, less
the retainage and other deductions provid
ed in the Contract Documents. Further
details concerning the payment provisions
of the Contract are contained in Section 14
of the General Conditions and of the
Supplementary Conditions of the Contract
Documents.

Sealed proposals from general contrac
tors will be received by the Houston
County Board of Education, Owner, at the
board office located at 1100 Main Street,
until 2:00 PM. at the time legally prevail
ing in Perry, Georgia, on Wednesday,
March 12, 1997, for Renovations,
Modifications and Additions to Rumble
Middle School located at 303 South Davis
Drive, located in Warner Robins, Georgia.
At the time and place noted above, the
proposals will be publicly opened and
read.

the office of the Architect, Wm. Harold

Bidding documents are available for
inspection at the office of the Architect, the
Dodge Plan Rooms, Construction Market
Data and on Dodge SCAN.
Application for documents together
with deposit of one hundred fifty dollars
($150.00) per set should be filed promptly
with the Architect. Bidding material will
be forwarded as soon as possible. The full
amount of the deposit, less shipping
charges, will be refunded to each General
Contractor who submits a bonafide bid
upon return of such set in good condition
within ten (10! days after date of opening
of bids.
All other deposits will be refunded
with deductions approximating the cost of
reproduction of documents, equal to one
hundred dollars ($100.00), and shipping
and handling upon return of same in good
condition within ten (10) days after date of
opening of bids.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump
sum basis of the base bid to the lowest
responsible and qualified bidder. No bid
may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days
after time has been called on the date of
opening. Bids must be accompanied by a
bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of
the base bid. Both a performance bond
and a payment bond will be required in an
amount equal to 100% of the contract bid
price.
The Owner reserves the right to reject
any or all bids and to waive technicalities
and formalities.

and use tax will be imposed, levied and
collected in Houston County for educa
tional purposes of the Houston County
School District, at the rate of one per
cent, as authorized by the Constitution
of Georgia, for a time period not to
exceed twenty calendar quarters, for
the following purpose:
1. Providing funds to finance
repayment of general obligation
bond indebtedness of the
Houston County School District
for Houston County School
District General Obligation
Bonds Series 1993 and 1996, by
payment of principal and inter
est as it becomes due or by pay
ment of principal by scheduled
maturity or optional and manda
tory redemption prior to maturi
ty for bonds coming due on
March 1, 1998 through
September 1, 2016, in the maxi
mum amount of
$53,905,315.66.
The ballot to be used at such elec
tion shall have written or printed there
on substantially the following:

more than $53,905,315.66 for the fol-
ters of record superior to the Security
Deed first set out above.

"Security Deed"): Security Deed from
Clifford R. Calloway to Secietaiy of
Veterans Affairs, an Officer of the United
States of America, dated June 16, 1995,
and recorded in Deed Book 1154, Rage
314, Houston County Records, as last
transferred to Banker's Trust Company of
California, N.A., as Trustee for Vendee
Mortgage Trust VA9S-3, 3 Park Plaza,
Sixteenth Floor, Irvine, California 92714,
by assignment to be recorded in the Office

records, conveying the after-described
property to secure a Note in the original
