Idakans share funds with community organizations

Under the leadership of Sandra Hunt as President,
Jan Tripp as Vice President, Martha Ann Rhodes as
Secretary, Terrie Malone as Treasurer and Louise
Talton as Parliamentarian, the Idaka Club has had a
very good 1996-19997 Club Year.
At the March meeting, the members were recalling
some of the informative and interesting programs that
sharpened their awareness of areas of need in their
community. Some of these were Loaves and Fishes,
the Foster Children’s Program, and the Pregnancy
Care Center.
The Idaka ladies listed, with pride, the contribu
tions that they made to the community during this
club year. They joined the Perry Area Chamber of
Commerce- dues SIOO, they gave $l5O to the City of
Perry to purchase white Christmas pole lights
Some S2OO was used to buy Christmas gifts for a
foster child through the Houston County Department
of Family and Children Services. Idakans made a
S2OO contribution to the Pregnancy Care Center and
on the evening of that program, the members biought

to a Habitat House project. Throughout the year,
members brought canned goods to the monthly meet
ings for “Loaves and Fishes.”
To finish off 19996-1997, the members are filling
and decorating 15 Easter Baskets for residents of the
New Perry Nursing Home who do not have any or
many relatives to do for them.
The Idaka Club would like to thank the people of
Perry and Middle Georgia who have supported them
through the fund raisers they have sponsored over the
years. They look forward to future contributions
through their fund raising projects. Please continue to
lend support to all clubs and organizations who are
trying to “Make a Difference”.
