The Perry Kiwanis Club
Pancake breakfast will be held
April 5, 7-11 a.m. at the Houston
County Extension Building on
Carroll St. Cost: $3 per plate.
Proceeds will go to the Kiwanis
Scholarship Fund. Meet your
friends there for a breakfast of pan
cakes, sausage, syrup (sugar free
for diabetics), butter (fat free or
low fat), a selection of juices and
jellies, milk and coffee.

Perry’s Henry Haugabook
Carter, author of "Mother Wit” will
be in this area again, advertising
her book. Catch her on May 10,
the Saturday before Mother’s Day,
at a book signing at Books A
Million in Macon. On April 22, she
will be taping a Date With Dell
show which will air on Channel 13
WMAZ-TV. on April 28. She has
appointments with publishing
companies in New York and
Chicago where she will promote
her book.

Perry Middle School students
visited Kroger and W. D. Sullivan,
their business partners March 25.
On Thursday, the chorus from
Peny Middle School will sing for
the residents at Autumn Terrace.
On March 24, The Sixth Grade
Band at Perry Middle School, gave
a concert for their parents and
friends in the community.

demonstration and clinic April 5, at
the New South Arena, Georgia
National Fairgrounds and
Agricenter from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is free.
Demonstrations are at 9 a.m.,
10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Clinic is between demonstrations.

or memorialize someone —a
teacher, parent, sibling, classmate,
child, or others. The cost is still SSO
per brick, with two engraved lines
(14 spaces to each line). They will
be placed in the correct section
class year, business, organization,
family, or other designated location,
in the walkway.
Class reunions are scheduled for
the summer. Orders placed now
should be received, properly
placed, and ready to see by reunion
time. There about 28 spaces left.

Perry Elementary School chil
dren jumped rope March 13 in the
gymnasium to raise funds for the
Heart Association.
The PTO of Perry Middle
School, met March 18 for a pro
gram on “Gangs” and to make
plans for the Variety Show and the
Teachers’ Appreciation Luncheon.

Angie Mitchem of Memories,
will hold a hands-on workshop in
honor of National Scrapbook Day
on May 3, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at
Comfort Inn of Perry. A beginners’
orientation class that teaches the
importance of the keepsake album
tradition, as well as how-to tips
and creative ideas will take place
from 10 a.m.-l p.m. The cost is
$lO per person. The all-day work
shop fee of $lO per person includes

Yarbrough, pastor of First Baptist
Church of Perry and immediate
past president of the Georgia
Baptist Convention, who has been
named chairman of the
Implementation Task Force of the
Southern Baptist Convention,
replacing Robert E. Reccord, the
her mother is a member of a sym
phonic orchestra in Tennessee.
Also on the agenda for the
show are programs about organic
gardening, daylilies, cooking with
herbs, caring for bonsai and
Japanese flower arranging.
In addition to the free semi
nars, Beltista Club members have
arranged for exhibits and vendors
featuring yard and garden furni
ture, statuaries, bonsai, flower
probable nominee for president of
the new North American Mission
Board. This task force is responsi
ble for guiding the restructuring of
the Southern Baptist Convention.
To Dewey Prevatt of Perry,
upon his sheepdog ‘Tip” being
named champion from among
more than 200 competitors in the
trials held in Calhoun, March 21-
23. Tip is now eligible to compete
in the National Finals for Elite
Young Sheepdogs in America, to
be held in September in Oregon.

Clark Ansley upon their marriage
on March 8 at First Christian
Church, Perry The Rev. Ron Nolen
officiated.
The bride is the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. George Eubanks
of Pensacola, Fla., and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark
Ansley of Naples, Fla., and the late
Blanche Ansley.
Groomsmen included the
groom’s father, the groom’s broth
ers William Ansley of Perry, and
Russell Ansley of Naples, Fla., and
the bride’s son Jeff Slover of
Pensacola.
The bride is a graduate of
Pensacola High School and
Pensacola Junior College. She is
an industrial engineering techni
cian at Robins Air Force Base.
The groom is a graduate of
Naples Senior High School. He is
retired from the United States Air
Force and he is a student at Macon
College.
The Ansleys are living in Perry.
To Roy T. Cape. Jr. of Perry,
and Billie F. Ferrell of Eatonton
(formerly of Warner Robins), who
teamed up as participants in the
Crappie Tournament held at
Clark’s Hill Reservoir, on March
7-9. They won a first-place check
for $2,000 for Saturday’s catch.
This is not their first win by any
means. They have won a couple of
expensive boats and other cash and
material prizes. The 7 crappie
