Since retiring, Cheek has been
an active member of HCR-TA,
serving as the local president and
vice president.
Among his many other activi
ties, he has been president of the
Perry Kiwanis Club, lieutenant
governor of Georgia Kiwanis, and
president of the Perry Salvation
Army Council.
He is a lifetime member of the
American Legion, deacon at Perry
First Baptist Church, member of
the Board of Directors of Houston
County Meals on Wheels and
trainers for AARP Driver Training
Program.
He served 29 years in the Air
Force Reserve and was founder of
the Perry Future Farmers of
America Scholarship.
