Book author visits Perry during Dogwood Festival
Carolyn DeLoach, author of
“The Woolfolk Tragedy”, signed
copies of her book at The Perry
Book Store on Saturday from 10
a.m. until well past her noon clos
ing, and stayed to visit with sever
al who stayed to chat.
She was enthusiastic about
Perry and its people. More than 50
of her books sold
Millie C. Stewart of Macon,
who wrote the foreword, also
signed copies of the book. She is a
descendant of the Woolfolk fami
ly and states that DeLoach’s
names and facts in the book are
correct.
The book is about the Woolfolk
murder tragedy of the 1880s in
Perry.

April is Hospice Month.
Hospice of Houston County spon
sored a Memorial Celebration on
April 6 at 3 p.m. at Trinity United
Methodist Church in Warner
Robnins. The primary focus of
the service was to celebrate the
lives of loved ones who have died.

“Heaven,” a special two-ses
sion presentation by Fred
Overton, will be on May 7 and 14
at 6:45 p.m., at First Baptist
Church, Perry.

The Georgia National
Fairgrounds and Agricenter in
Perry will be going to the dogs
April 10-13, as hundreds of dogs
compete in a variety of American
Kennel Club events during The
Peach Blossom Cluster. Acitivites
include three All-Breed Dog
Shows, four Obedience Events, 25
Specialty Dog Shows, plus other
AKC events: Herding, Agility and
Lure Coursing..
This show will be held April
10-12 9 a.m -4 p.m., and April 13,
9 a.m.-noon.

Macon Little Theatre through
April 12. Tickets are sl2 for

of Perry, Jane Graybeal of
Shelbyville, Ky., and Jerry and
Jean Stephens of Morganton, N.
C. She joins big sister, Wilson
Victoria, in the Storey home.
To Molly Moss of Elko, for
whom the MOlly C. Moss Bridge
on Ga. 26 over Elko Creek was
named and dedicated in special
services on the grounds at Elko
Baptist Church last week.
Nell Malcolm of Elko wel
comed the gathering of friends,
former students, and dignitaries,
as well as the media. The Rev.
Harold Moore gave the invoca
tion. Representative Larry Walker,
Ga. Department of Transportation
Commissioner Wayne
Shackelford and Sherrill Stafford,
Chairman of the Houston County
Commission made remarks as to
Mrs. Molly’s impact on the politi
cal, educational, religious life of
Elko and Middle Georgia.
They also made presentations
to Mrs. Moss, including resolu
tions and a bridge sign for her
yard.
Mrs. Molly Moss expressed her
appreciation for the service, those
who participated, and thanked all
those responsible for the activi
ties. Following the dedication ser
vice, a reception was held in the
fellowship hall of the church to
which all attendees were invited.

The groom-elect is the son of
Sandra Beck of Macon and Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Stanfield, and
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Robertson,
all of Macon. He is a police officer
at the Medical Center of Central
Georgia, where his fiancee is
employed.
