Dunaway and Hardey set
June 14 wedding vows
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Emmett
Dunaway Jr. of Hawkinsville
announce the engagement of their
daughter, Angela Dawn Dunaway
to William Ernest Hartley IV of
Macon, son of Claudia Hartley of
Smyrna and Mr. William Ernest
Hartley 111 of Pine Mountain.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
John William Scott Sr. and Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Emmett
Dunaway Sr., all of Unadilla.
A 1990 graduate of The
Westfield Schools in Perry, she
attended Mercer University where
she was a member of Chi Omega
Sorority. She received a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Physical
Therapy from Georgia State
University and is employed by
Potpourri

Thompson, Maryann Akins,
Sidney Bledsoe, Misty Warren,

Becky Hamm.

W. Sommerfield of Cumming and
the late Mr. and Mrs. William
Ernest Hartley Jr. of Jesup.
A 1986 graduate of Campbell
High School in Smyrna, he
received a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Marketing from
Kennesaw State College. Working
in sales, he is an owner of Waste
Research and Recovery, Inc. of
Norcross and Macon.
The couple will be married on
June 14, at noon at Double Branch
Free Will Baptist Church in
Unadilla. All friends and relatives
are invited to attend.

Rape and James
exchange vows Feb. 22
Elizabeth Allison Rape became
the bride of Staff Sgt. Timothy
James South in an afternoon ser
vice on Feb. 22, 1997, at Second
Baptist Church in Warner Robins.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Butch Walker of
Carrollton, and Mr. and Mrs. Billy
Rape of Centerville. The groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark
South of Glasgow, Ky.
The Rev. Mike Dorough offici
ated at a candlelight ceremony.
The bride entered the church on
the arm of her father and was
escorted through the silver arches
presented by the Silver Sword
Saber Team from Fort Benning,
Ga.
She wore a long sleeved, white
satin Amy Lee Original with a
bodice of sheer illusion. Neckline,
bodice and cuffs were adorned
with hand sewn pearls and crys
tals. The dropped waist and chapel
length train were adorned in a like
manner. A pearl and crystal tiara
with a finger tip veil of sheer illu
sion accented with pearls com
pleted the brides attire.
She carried a hand tied bouquet
of white bridal roses, fresh heather
and one pale pink rose to repre
sent the bride’s sorority, Alpha Xi
Delta. The bouquet was tied with
white illusion ribbon and pearls.
The maid of honor was Krystal
McGhee of Columbus.
Bridesmaids were Kristi
Thompson of Bremen and Mikki
Folds, sister of the bride of
Centerville. They wore navy blue
damask tea length dresses with
long sleeved bolero jackets of
sheer illusion. They carried hand
tied bouquets of sheer bliss roses
and fresh heather.
The best man was Scott South
of Corales, N.M. Ushers were
Marcus South of Glasgow, Ky.
and Chris Ganas of Vero Beach,
Fla.
The flower girl was Amanda
Walker, sister of the bride, from
Carrollton. She was attired in a
white organza Amy Lee Original,
tea length dress. She wore a
wreath of white baby’s breath
with navy ribbons. She carried a
white lace basket filled with pink
rose petals.
Mrs. Timothy James South
The ringbearer was Micah
Walker, brother of the bride, from
Carrollton. He and all male atten
dants wore traditional black tuxe
dos.
As the bridal party left the
church, they exited under the sil
ver arches formed by the Saber
Team. Following tradition, the
bride was tapped as she exited by
the Team leader as a welcome to
the U.S. Army Team.
A buffet reception was held in
the Camellia Room at the Comfort
Inn in Warner Robins, hosted by
the parents of the bride. Assisting
in the reception was Julia Hale of
Easley, S.C., Christi Greene of
Carrollton, Stacey Vaccaro of
Kennesaw, Christy Skipper of
Bremen and Elaine of Atlanta.
After a wedding cruise of the
Caribbean, the newlyweds will
reside in Fort Polk, La., where the
groom is a member of the United
States Army.
A country theme rehearsal din
ner was held at PoMo’s House of
Barbecue and was hosted by the
groom and his family.
A bridesmaid luncheon was
held on Feb. 21 at the New Perry
Hotel. It was hosted by Mrs.
Carolyn Lovejoy, aunt of the
bride. Included was all female
attendants and family members.
Several parties and showers
were held preceding the wedding
to honor the bride and groom.
County fire
department to
host field day
Special to the Times-Journal
The Houston County Fire
Department will be holding a
Firefighters Field Day April 12 at
Houston County High School,
located on Ga. 96 from 10:00 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m.
There will be five firefighting
events, concessions, fire safety
information, fire equipment dis
plays and fun for all ages, said
Houston County Fire Chief
Jimmy Williams.
Admission is free.
