Ministerial Association plans Aug. 24 PraiSing at PHS Auditorium

The annual PraiSing, spon
sored by the Perry Ministerial
Association, will be held at 7
p.,m., Aug. 24, at the Perry High
School Auditorium.
The public is invited and
churches are encouraged to have
their musicians and musical
groups on the program for the
evening.
Second Memorial Baptist
Homecoming set
Homecoming will be held at
Second Memorial Baptist Church
in Perry, Sept. 14-17 The five
speakers will be former pastors.
Former ministers of music will be
in charge of the music
All members, former members,
friends, and their families are
invited to join with Second
Memorial Baptist Church during
this special season in the life of
this church. The Rev. Mark

Vacation Bible School, Good
News Stampede, will be held at
Second Memorial Church Aug. 4-
8, at 6:30 p.m. daily for 4 year
olds through completed 6th grade.
Cindy Gentry is director this year.
Friday evening will be special
with a bonfire, hotdog cookout,
and a tent to help lower the heat.
Dayspring plans revival
Dayspring Baptist Church will
hold revival services with the
Rev. Sam Cathey, visiting speak
er. Services will be held Aug. 17-
20, Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6:30
p.m.: Monday through
Wednesday, at 7 p.m. The Rev.
Chad Everson is pastor pastor.

Crossroads Methodist
Church has busy month
Crossroads United Methodist
Church of 1600 Main St., Perry,
has a jam-packed month of activi
ties planned for August. An invi
tation is extended to the commu
nity to join in.
A prayer breakfast, 8-9:30
a.m., is the first event planned for
Aug. 3 Following fellowship dur
ing breakfast, prayer groups will
be assigned .
Each of the five Sundays has a
special emphasis. Aug. 4 will be a
Singspiration with congregational
singing, choir specials and solos.
At 5 p.m., everyone is invited to a
salad and sandwich supper. A con
tinuation of the morning praise
and worship will begin at 6 p.m.
Aug. 10, the evangelistic
emphasis is Invite-A-Friend to
church. The 6 p.m. service will
focus on youth. Charlie Walker
will speak. An ice cream social
will follow the service.
On Aug. 17, everyone is urged
to Invite-A-Relative to church. At
6 p.m., the movie “Scars That
Heal” will be shown. There will
be special movies for the children
at the same time. Before the
movie, a Mexican-recipe potluck
supper will be served in the fel
lowship hall.

served during the evening until 9
p.m.
The events will conclude on
Aug. 31 as Crossroads and the
community welcome the return of
former pastor, the Rev. Grable
Page of Beauford, S.C., to the pul
pit. Former members and friends
are invited to join the Crossroads
church family for a covered dish
luncheon at noon.
