Handguns recovered
A number of stolen items, including handguns
and corns, have been recovered ond the olleged

Sheriff 's Investigator lon Holland
Holland sold one o f the suspects. Timothy
Tmmert 17 of Bonoue was arrested when a
vehicle he was o passenger in was stopped for a
traffic violation in Crisp County by Col Billy
Hancock
One of the stolen handguns was found in his
possession, said Holland
The subsequent investigation turned up many
of the items token and two other suspects, he
added
Holland said forced entry was used m each
burglary, such os forcing open a door or window
Othei items taken included tewelry, currency,
clothes ond electronic equipement, he said
Holland urges citizens tc take special core
with securing homes, businesses ond vehicles dur
ing the holiday season
Sheriff ’s office investigated
At the request of Houston County Sheriff
Cullen Tolton, the Go Bureau of Investigation is
now looking into some missing items from the
Perry office of the sheriff 's department
Agent-trecharge of the GBI Perry office, Jack
White, said at first the sheriff contacted them
about possible missing money ond drugs from the
evidence room in Perry
"They resolved the money so we are only
looking info who' might have happened to the
cocaine at this point," White said
The GBI agent said the drugs had apparently
been used as evidence in an earlier trial, but ius’
which ttioi ond iust how long the cocaine has

White said the unspecified amount of cocaine
had beer, kept in o supply cabinet ond "it was
not always locked"
He said the probe is trying to determine how
secure the cabinet was and mst who hod access
to it

edge of the situation
"There has been cooperation for the most
part," White said "There hos been some hesr
toncy on the part of one individual, though" He
declined to name that person since the cose is still
under investigation
White said he hoped to have the matter
resolved in “a fairly reasonable fashion,"
