Author to speak at Perry Presbyterian Feb. 12

Susan Yates, author of And Then I Had
Kids: Hncouragcment for Mothers of Young
Children, will speak during a ladies' confer
ence Feb 12.
The conference will begin at 10 a m and
continue throughout the day at Perry
Presbyterian Church , Second and Sunset
streets in Perry
Day sessions include “Ten Intangible Gifts
to Grow Your Children from Tots to Teens" at
10 a m and "Twelve Gifts to Equip Parents for
the Teen-age Years," at 1:30 p m
Reservations are available for the lunch to
be served at 12:30 p.m Reserve lunch by call
ing 987-1403 by Feb. .5.
Yates, a native of South Carolina, received
an undergraduate degree in political science
from the University of North Carolina 30
years ago.
Since then, she has been active in a variety
of Christian ministries including serving as a
staff member of Campus Crusade for Christ at
the University of Georgia.
She was the Assistant Dean of Students for
Westminster Choir College at Princeton Her
recent involvement is as an author and speak
er about family life.
Among her other books is A House Full of
Friends: How to I.ike the Ones You Love She
is the parent-child columnist for "Today’s
Christian Woman" magazine
