After the graduating seniors had finished
their May 21 march to the Peny High
School stage, and opening ceremonies
were completed. Valedictorian Stephany Ann
Meyer got the 1998 Honors Day program off to a
good start with a little humor and some sage
advice for the underclassmen in the packed audi
torium.
“Don’t make a habit of skipping school,” she
said, “Stay awake in class. Listen to your teach
ers. You might learn something.”
As one of 29 Honor Graduates honored at the
pre-graduation program, Meyer had the honors to
show she learned something in her four years at
Perry High School, and judging by the num
ber of scholarship awards presented that morning
many of the seniors have been giving their
best to classroom and extracurricular activities.
April Fendley. Salutatorian, and Shannon
Lamer. Star Student, were also stars on Honors
Day, receiving numerous honors and scholarship
awards.
