Legislation recently passed by
the Georgia General Assembly

With the money, the county

A total of 1.400 units regis

said is very family-oriented. “One
thing about this event, it has had a
lot of family involvement. Here at
the Agriccnter. you can see kids
playing baseball and other
games," said Froehlich.
The units, consisting of all
types recreational vehicles, were
mainly grouped by state around
the grounds.
"Pennsylvania has 114 units,
Maine has 20, Michigan has 103
and Ohio has 105. And, there are

Norris said the public is invited to a special flag retirement ceremo
ny that will be held at 7:45 a.m. July 18.
Also, running concurrent with the Legion activities will be the 78th
Annual Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary provides support to the Legion and arc involved in
numerous community activities, according to local chapter president
Penny Ingram.
During the Auxiliary Convention, events will include awards being
presented and new officers for the upcoming year installed.
There are 43,9(X) American Legion members and 11.(XX) Auxiliary
members in the state of Georgia.
Froehlich said he believes the Agricenter will become a hot spot in
the near future for such conventions.
"We are in the perfect location in the center of the state. Also. Perry
has good hospitality," he added.

Officials expect the Super
Wal-Mart to be open and ready
for business in about one year.
Also during the meeting, PPC
members discussed the legality of
of electronic reader boards. These
are boards that flash messages
electronically using lights to form
words or images.
Operators of a local motel, the
Red Gable Inn located along St.
Patrick’s Drive, had requested a
variance for a free standing sign
that would include a reader board.
Howard said he is not sure that
city ordinances allow such boards
and said the city attorney will
need to check into that.
These type boards are already
in use at some places about town,
said How ard, such as the ones for
the Agricenter and Angelina’s.

Froehlich added that he has
heard of businesses seeing many

However. Howard said the he
feels some of those signs were
“approved over our heads."
“We need to re-evaluate the
situation,” added Howard.
The approval of the reader
board for the motel was tabled
until the next meeting, pending
city attorney advisement.
Members also decided to send
a letter to a Warner Robins con
tractor informing him of some of
the City’s planning and zoning
regulations.
Apparently, the contractor
constructed a storage building at
a local residence without check

homeowners have the problem of
bringing the structure into com

You’ve heard that before

It’s easy to ignore the minor ache or pain, just as it’s easy
for your chiropractor to treat the minor ache ot pain.
However, let the pain persist and worsen, and the healing
process beoomes more difficu.t. That increasing pain is a
signal that the condition is gradually degenerating into a
severe ailment. If you are experiencing any discomfort now,
get a chiropractic examination before the pain (and the
expense) become severe. To encourage you to check out
