MDA prison volunteers raise funds
From Staff Reports
Perry volunteers took their “arrests” in good humor recently as they
pitched to raise $ 17,812 for the battle against Muscular Dystrophy. The
'jailbirds’'. who were escorted to the Holiday Inn by local law enforce
ment officers, got fingerprinted, had mug shots taken, and then settled
down behind pretend bars to enjoy refreshments while they made calls
to raise their “bail’ with every pledge going to the Muscular
Dystrophy Association. According to MDA Lock-Up coordinator Erin
Woolen, the top fund raiser for the day was Jeffery Schnable who raised
$740.
