The group has made a vow to
provide a system to every church
in the nation that is burned, she
added.
"Our church will be the first
in the nation to receive the mon
itoring system from this group."

Shriners to host fall
barbecue meal Oct. 23
The Perry Shrine club mem
bers will hold their annual fall
barbecue Oct. 23 at their facility
located at 402 Courtney Hodges
Blvd. in Perry.
Plates will be ready for pick
up at th ' -thru from 11:30
a.m. until o._up.in. Oct. 23. Each
plate will contain one-half pound
of pit cooked pork barbecue, cole
slaw, cookies, potato chips, pick
les and bread and the cost will be
$5 per plate. Bulk barbecue, if
available, will be $6 per pound.
Trick-or-treat on Oct. 31
Trick-or-Treat will be
observed in Perry Oct. 31 from 6
p.m. until 8 p.m., according to
local officials.
Last year, Halloween was
observed in the City on an alter
nate date, so Trick-or-Treaters
would not be out during a week
end evening.
Perry Mayor Jim Worrall said
that because of complaints from
citizens about that change, coun
cil decided to allow observance
to fall on Halloween night, which
is a Saturday night this year.
Time change is Oct. 25
The United States returns to
standard time Oct. 25 at 2 a.m.
Remember to set clocks and gain
