Lavinia Emily Harrison
Ltviniu Emily Harrison. 85. of Colbert, Ga.,
dial Dec. 9. 1998.
Services were at Bernstein Funeral Home
Chapel. Athens, at II a m. Dec. 12 with the
Rev. Mark Babin officiating.
A native of Washington. DC.. Mrs.
Harrison was a retired civil service worker
with the U.S. Navy and also at Robins Air
Force Base. She was a member of Beulah
Baptist Church of Crescent City, Fla.
She is survived by her daughter. Carol G.
Marlow of Colbert. 1 and granddaughters
Shirley Griffith of Centerville and Priscilla
Morgan of Warner Robins, seven great-grand
children and two great-great-grandchildren.

Unadilla. died Dec. 14, 1998 at a local hospital.

Federal Credit-Union conducted a
ground-breaking ceremony Dec
-15 at a site along the North Perry
Parkway near Ga. 129 designated
as the location for the new Perry
branch .
Perry City officials including
Mayor James Worrall and Police
Chief George Potter, along with
Perry Area Chamber of
Commerce President Chris
Kinnas were present for the event.
Credit Union Executives,
Edward Levins, President of
Robins Federal Credit Union,
Harold J. Sawyer and other
Robins staff members were
included in the ceremony.

Unadilla United Methodist Church. Interment
will be at Walnut Cemetery of Unadilla.
A native of Houston County, Mr. Scott was
the son of the late James Emanuel Scott and
Agnes Daniel Scott. He was a member of
Unadilla United Methodist Church, and was a
U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of Millwood masonic
Lodge # 298. a master mason, a Scottish rite
mason, and a member of Al Sihah Shrine
Temple. He was a graduate of the University of
Georgia, a warehouseman and a farmer. He had
lived in Unadilla all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Barron
Scott of Unadilla. sons. James Daniel Scott Jr.,
of Unadilla. John Clayton Scott of Elko and
Jerry Thomas Scott of Unadilla; one sister,
Jcanine Scott Bruce of Marietta and four
grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at the Scott
residence at 616 Borum St., Unadilla.
Worrall said “I am proud of
what you folks arc fixing to do, this
is a community and you will fyid
you will become a part of the com
munity very quickly. This is good
for you and good for the county”.
“When I bought my property it
was nine and a half miles south of
Warner Robins and it was in the
country, I now live two and a half
miles from the new site and its not
the country any more, it is a
quickly developing urban area”
said Levins.
The new credit union branch
will be a full service branch fea
turing an Automated Teller
Machine and Drive through ser
vice. The new branch is expected
to be open for operations in the
third quarter of 1999.

Dorothy Deese Grinnell, 57, of Byron died
Dec. 8.
Services were at Powersville United
Methodist Church of Powersville Dec. 10.
Interment was at Oak lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Grinnell was a retired civil service
worker and a member of Powersville United
Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William L.
Grinnell of Byron, children, Gina Clark of
Byron, William Grinnell Jr. of Warner Robins,
Jill Smith of Byron. Jan Sheffield of Macon
and June Bailey of Byron; brothers John Alvin
Deese of Byron. William Deese of Centerville.
Bobby Deese of Byron, Douglas Deese of
Byron, Terry Deese of Byron; sisters. Annette
Johnson of Perry. Mary Oliver of Byron and
Joy Deese of Byron; and eight grandchildren.
