Grisamore said lations to Wilson and
he had always loved writing and Una Martin on Jan. 16.
graduated cum laude from the
University of Georgia with a
degree in journalism.
A sports writer until 19%. he
now provides four general
columns a week for the
Telegraph. He recently authored
his first two books in just 13
months. “True Gris" is a collec
tion of his stones and columns,
and “Once Upon A Whoopee" is
about the 1973-74 Macon
Whoopees hockey team.
The team was so named by
owner Walter Donaldson for the
tunc “Makin* Whoopee" made
popular by Eddie Cantor and
sung in the movie “I’ll See You
Again" by Doris Day of whom he
was a fan.

Twins for this week are the 21-
year-old daughters of Perry
Police officer Eddie Thomas and
his wife Helen.
Christy Rene and Misty Dawn
were bom Oct. 19. 1977. and
graduated from Cartersville High
School. As roommates at Berry
College they have excelled in
track and field. When the) gradu
ate in 2000. Misty plans to teach
in elementary grades and Christy
plans to go on to law school at
Emory University.
Tucker Road neighbors Riley
and Sandra Hunt and Fred and
Jackie Klein flew to Acapulco on
Dec. 28 to begin a holiday cruise
aboard the Holland America ship
Maasdam
They visited ports in Mexico
and Guatemala on their voyage to
pass througi. ,u <' Panama Canal, a
process which iook mm. hours in
very warm temperatures. Then it
was on to Grand Cayman island
and the flight home from Ft.
Lauderdale.
The Hunts and Kleins reported
they enjoyed wonderful food and
entertainment during their vaca
tion at sea.

On Monday Mayor Jim and
Frances Worrall represented the
City of Perry at the inauguration
activities for Georgia’s 80th
Governor, the Honorable Roy
Barnes.
In addition to attending the
various festivities involved with
the inauguration of the Governor
Mayor Worrall was able to visit
several state department heads as
well as key legislative leaders on
the first day of the General
They were married 64 years ago
in Fort Valley.

Welcome to Perry to Bob and
Karen Cochran Ray who moved
from Fort Valley into their Kings
Crest home just before
Christmas. When Bob is in
Atlanta as lop assistant to
Secretary of State Cathy Cox and
Karen leaches at Byron
Elementary, children Callie and
Rob spend that time in the care of
Myma Woods.

Perry Hospital gains second
patient admission area

surgery, treatment
and testing, the Perry' Hospital
staff has long felt the need for
two admissions areas.
The idea was that one would
be for dealing with emergencies
and the other for admitting
patients for out-patient services
and hospital stays.
Effective this week, those two
admissions areas are a reality,
and signs will soon be in place
that make the distinctions clear.
“It’s to better serve the
patients,'' said Faith Stewart,
Community Relations
Coordinator.
She said the new system will
be more efficient and will also
mean that incoming patients
have more privacy during the
admissions procedure.
“We’ve had increased num
bers of patients in all outpatient
areas.’’ Stewart said. “There arc
just more things we can do on an
outpatient basis.”
While some who arrive for
outpatient surgery may remain
for several hours for follow-up
care, others may simply have a
test recommended by their
physicians.
The emergency room
entrance has not changed. It's
still at the first driveway into the
hospital as patients come from
Main Street.
However, now patients who
are arriving for out-patient ser
vices or to be admitted to the
