donation in appreciation for the support and
training the school has provided businesses in

Special Olympics World summer Games, is
encouraging customers and employees to get
involved with Special Olympics this year by vol
unteering.
"The '99 games in North Carolina and all the
local Special Olympics events leading up to it are
excellent opportunities for people to get out and
support their communities," said Skip Dawkins,
Alltel area manager.
Dawkins said a large number of Alltel employ
ees will be at the '99 games, June 26 - July 4, vol
unteering to help in any way possible.

the Georgia National Fair
Grounds in Perry (Feb 24- March
7) will feature Llamas.
Daily exhibition of llamas will
provide attendees with informa
tion and educational material
concerning this unique and versi
tle form of livestock, said llama
enthusiast Wayne Coussens.
On the second weekend of the
livestock exhibition, the Southern
States Llama Association will
present the first ever SSLA
Spring Llama show with more
than 150 llamas from all over the
southeast.
The llama demonstrations are
provided to stimulate interest in
4-H and FFA youth and leaders
in setting up local youth projects
with these animals similar to
those being done all around the

ease of handling, llamas are espe
cially good for projects with any
age handler. At the llama show
March 6-7, several 4-H clubs will
compete in Youth obstacle, Youth
Public Relations and Youth Pack
classes in the hope of overtaking
the current National Champion
in Youth Public Relations, a local
youth, Patrick Coussens, of
Alohallama Forest Ranch in
Perry.
During the last weekend of the
livestock exhibition, March 5-7,
the Llama Show will feature more
than 150 llamas from some 45
farms from six southern states in
attendance. Performance classes
will begin at 8:00 a.m. Feb. 27
with Obstacle Course, Public
Relations, and Pack Classes for
novice and advanced llamas, and
with the youth classes.
Sunday, the fun begins at 9
a.m. with light, medium and
heavy wool Halter classes in
which the llamas will be judged
on structure and movement.
Some of the best llamas in the
country will compete in this show
and they will be shooting to beat
the local favorite, Mosers Frixos,
of Perry’s Alohallama Forest
Ranch.
Free demonstrations will allow
the public to learn more about
these unusual animals, Coussens
said.
