Dr. Louis and Tesa Shelton enjoyed the
Saturday matinee of “Miss Saigon at the
Fox Theatre. Afterward they joined Louis’
longtime friend Gene Lasseter for dinner
at Murphy’s in Virginia Highlands. Gene
related that in the elevator of the Wachovia
building where he works and Sam Nunn
works he was on the way up with his
Wachovia boss and his boss’s boss when
Sam entered the elevator.
Of course everyone spoke to the senator
and from the back Gene piped up “Hello,
Mr. Nunn, how’s Miss Elizabeth?” Sam
turned and recognized Gene and said, “ The
Hotel’s just not quite the same since Miss
Louise isn’t there anymore." Needless to say,
Gene enjoyed his moment of recognition.
Dr. Louis Shelton was my hero of the
moment Sunday afternoon when I broke
off a crown when biting down on some
thing very hard in my deli fried chicken.
The above are tales he told tq keep my
mind off the task at hand. Whatta way to
spend a Sunday afternoon!

Two of Perry’s finest fellows have
recently been hall mates at Macon’s
Medical Center. Billy Barrett suffered a
heart attack and received triple bypass
surgery, a repeat of 16 years ago. Richard
Jones’ triple bypass resulted from a routine
physical that became much more involved.
Billy’s Lilli Ann has been a constant
companion, but Richard’s Linda has had
some help from their sons Lee and Brian
who share the family surveying and engi
neering firm downtown in the old post
office building next-door to the Times-
Joumal. Billy is with Southdown, formerly
Medusa.
