Body. Mind and Soul is designed to inform our readers of the various lectures, classes,
cultural events, meetings, support groups, etc. going on in the Athens/Clarke County area.

Prenatal Aquatic Exercbe Program — Georgia Spinal
Center. Held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 — 6:30
p.m. Follows American College of Obstetricians and Gyne

90.5 FM, 20th Anniversary Reunion — WUOG. Celebra
tion events will indude alumni air shifts, panel discussions

Washington. D.C. for the Annual Pro-Choice March the

KIDS
Choreography—Athens Creative Theatre Begins Apm 4.
Classes each Saturday from 3 - 4:30 p.m. for 3 weeks.
Recreational Hall. Memonal Park. For grades 5-12. This is
a show choreography class and shouldn’t be confused with
a ballet or other type of dance class. $40 ($50 for both when
taken with the Music dass). Limit 12 students. Call to

Competitive Swimming Workout — YMCA For ages 6 -
18. For those preparing to swim competitivefy in the summer
months. Class begins in Apnl, and runs Monday - Fnday,
from 5 - 6 p.m. Youth may sign up for 2 or 3 day per week

Creative Dramatics — Athens Creative Theatre. Begins
April 2. Classes each Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. for 8
weeks. Recreational Hall, Memonal Park. For grades 2 - 4.
Focuses on believability, listening, and shanng. $25. Limit

Day Carrp Registration — Sandy Creek Park. Saturday,
April 11, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Registration will take place at
the Allen House above Sandy Creek Nature Center on Old
Commerce Road. Forages 7-12. Program will givechildren
the opportunity to explore their connections with nature and
stretch their minds and musdes through activities such as
pond study, micro life, canoeing, archery, habitat exploration

Music — Athens Creative Theatre. Begins Apnl 4. Each
Saturday from 2 3 p.m. for 8 weeks. Recreational Hall,

niques as well as some of the basics of music theory. $25

Super Flight Workshop — Sandy Creek Park. For ages 6
-12. Learn and apply the principles of flight while construct-
ing kites, paper airplanes, parachutes, helicopters, and
more. A $1 charge for materials plus park entrance fees will

Swimming and Water Safety— YMCA For non-swimmers
ages 4-12. Teaches swimming skills and watersafety. Led
by lifeguards, instructors, and Porpoise level YMCA swim
mers, the highest level of aquatic achievement in the YMCA
Swim Program. Class will be held on Saturdays, April4 - May
1. Each lesson is 45 minutes and is
offered at 10 am., 11am., and 12 noon.

Gospel Sing Benefit — Athens Area

larynx units in the dub loan doset and for

Adoption Support G roup—For cou pies who want to adopt
and those families that have. Meetings are the fourth Tues
day of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian

Alanon—Provides an opportunity for adult family members,
loved ones and friends of alcoholics to come together, share
problems, and team how to best support and help someone
with an alcohol problem. Meetings are Mondays, Tuesdays,

Alcoholics Anonymous — For those who have a problem

American Cancer Society: “Bosom Buddies" — A sup
port group for people who have had breast cancer. Meetings
are the third Monday of each month at 7.00 p.m. at the

eating disorders. Meetings are the first and third Wednesday

Athens Alliance for the Mentally III — Family Support
Group for friends or family members of a person with mental

people who have experienced or are experiencing depres
