Celebrating the release of their new

will be headlining this show spon

by David Barbe, stronger songs than
were on Where's Amta?'s debut CD.

Randy Andarson Seztat (City
Bar) Jazz.
Dayroom (High Hat) Like a con
glomeration of the Chili Peppers and
Talking Heads playing song by the
Doors. Their new record should be
out in the fall. And it's not, I'm afraid,
entitled Love the Wookie. Sniff.
Drop Sonic (Atomic Music Hall)
This is a new band featuring ex-
Farmer John memoers.
King Daddy Zeb (DT's Down Un-
oer) New Orleans-style blues piano
boogie-woogie.
RotoJvo (40 Watt) Fierce rock bor
dering on punk. Their debut record
is called Jack, and it just plain rocks.
Playing with Trinket.
Trinkot (40 Watt) Well, their chance
to open for Helmet at the Classic
Center was unfortunately trounced,
but here's your chance to check 'em
out where they belong anyway. Also,
I heard their recent Garden Stage
snow went swimmingly until Chris
A-rison's amp self-destructed. Some
bands Lave all the luck Playing with
Resolve (the band).
TUESDAY,
AUGUST 6
Tha Fountains (40 Watt) All around
great rock, country and folk. They
play like their lives depend on it. and
it's never sounded so good.
Rag* (40 Watt) Strong song-oriented
country, rock, and folk. Tonight
they're playing with The Foumains,
who share a lot of the same musical
history Rags does. Check it out.
Rail NC (High Hat) Their last High
Hat show was both frightening and
eerily addicting. They're like a car
accident that you just have to look
at, and they play Southern-fried
country rock as greasy as it is fun.
They're good, but you might get your
hands dirty.
Nathan Shappard Band (DT's
Down Under) Sheppard has been
playing around Athens and winning over
crowds here for years. He has three CDs,
including Wandering and Half Life, under
his belt, and there are more on the way.
Give 'em a listen.
Tha Simpletons (Lowery's) Rock
covers and originais.
