Note: The Fatt 5 An Store (located
at the corner of Thomas and
Dougherty Streets) is booking some
bands and throwing occasional
disco and/or band shows. The night
time Fatt 5 complex is called Galaxy
500, and some see the new part-time
club as somewhat of a Fnjoleros re
placement. The owners don't nave
Dlans to book shows every night of
the week, but it's an alternate venue
with a lot of possibilities. Plus, you
can check out some swell artwork
while you're there. That is all
Wednesday,
November 6
Another Man Down (Atomic Mu
sic Hall) All 1 know is that they used
to be a cover band, they wear leather
pants, and still play songs by Jane's
Adaiction and Paul Simon.
Espresso Love Seizure (Atomic
Music Hall) They've got a name I can
totally re'ate to, and are playing with
Another Man Down (the band)
The Fountains (DT's Down Under)
incredible high-energy folk-rock. You
have no excuse for not showing up.
Holiday (40 Watt) Holiday is a band
that champions melody and lush pro
duction, and has the utmost respect
for the beautiful simplicity of the pop
song. Their new record is called
Ready, Steady Go!, and they’re
helping Joe Christmas and Kincaid
celebrate the release of their new
split 7-inch.
Joe Christmas (40 Watt) Explo
sive indie slop rock. They're as much
about getting the notes wrong as
they are about getting them right,
and that’s part of what makes Joe
Christmas so great. They're releas
ing a split 7-inch with their pals
Kincaid tonight The new Joe Christ
mas song is called "Two Ways A
Thousand Times," and it was written
specifically for the 7-inch.
Kincaid (40 Watt) Indie pop. To
night they're celebrating the release
of their new split 7-inch with Joe
Christmas. The Kincaid song is
called "Eleanor Roosevelt," and
there will be limited-edition hand
made versions of the record on sale
tonight. The real artwork and real
release will be two weeks from now.
Give 'em your support, because
they're doing something cool here.
Old Toby (Georgia Theatre) Blues-
based rock 'n' roll
Rags (No Where Bar) Tight country
rock, featuring pedal steel, piano
and members of the Star Room Boys,
Me An' Mills, and others. They re
leased a CD over the summer, so
look for it at the usual places.
World Soul (Georgia Theatre) The
band has spent much of the last six
months -working on their debut CD,
Raja. It was recorded at The Zone in
Atlanta, and should be ready quite
soon. Ask 'em about it.

November 7
Crusher Brothers (High Hat)
Killer country. One of these guys is
in the sorta Fugazi-esque Atlanta
band Monkey Boy, but the Crusher
Brothers come from a different
planet, musically speaking. They
tear it up, country style.
Edith’s Wish (40 Watt) They're a
five-piece female hard rock band
along the lines of the Black
Crowes, and they're probably go
ing to be the next big deal out of
Atlanta. Give 'em a listen.
Funkomatic (40 Watt) Automatic
funk.
Gentle Readers (High Hat)
Gentle pop from producer Don
McCollister (Indigo Girls) and
company. See story on Page 22.
The Healers (Georgia Bar) Chi
cago- and Texas-style blues. 10
p.m.
Josh Joplin Band (DT's Down
Under) Smart pop rock from a tal-
e r ‘ed trio. The Southeast has been
abuzz about these guys lately, and
their new album is called Pro/ec-
tor Head.
Jay Markwalter & Friends
(Allen's) The Sandfly member will
be joined by some local musi
cians.
May (Atomic Music Hall) Swirly,
Ring
