and transcend
notions of what land
scape art is all about.

various landscapes
featuring the moon,
such as "Moon Rise
No. 2" and other
events of the night
with "Pink and Blue
Sky" serving as a col
orful contrast. Misty Bennett's "I Can Be a
Glamour Girl..." juxtaposes an oil painting of
a field of hay with painted-over strings
revealing a Southern Belle being courted.
Gwen Nagel shares a collection of pastels
‘Marsh Study" by Misty Bennett
heavily laden with colorful grasses and sea
side atmosphere. Eva Marie Magill incorpo
rates heavily random symbolic images in her
sporadic and dark paintings. Katarina Burin
experiments with detailed sketches of dif
ferent places, like the
American Insurance
Co., accented by a
controlled use of
space. Benjamin
Harper uses minimal
istic color in his
paintings, such as
three different sized
rectangles of color
used to represent the
air, water and earth.
Meanwhile, each of
the works of Nicole Shiflet focuses on one
color primarily. Her "Oozing Peninsula" con
veys an image of Florida melting in an exu
berant pool of blue.
