LOWERY GALLERY AND SCULPTURE GROUNDS
(Danielsville) "The Athens Regional Juried
Pnotography Show," an exhibit of over 50 works in
various photographic media from Athens and beyond.
Photographers featured in the exhibit are: Chris
Herron, Vyvyan Hughes, Ben Jose, Paula Nail,
Jonathan Evans, Edie Parsons, Lauren Schwartz,
Saburah Posner, Frank Hamrick, Kristine Potter,
Charles Freeman, Wiley Sanderson, Mary Sayei
Hammond, Chuck Hemard, Michael Guerzon, Jim
Parker, Tina Halcomb, Kevin Hoth, Lauren Woolley,
Amy Lipham and Susan Czechowski. The juror for the
show was Jim Buonaccorsi who selected 3 winners
and 6 honorable mentions. Aug. 6-Sept. 8. Also, an
outdoor sculpture show featuring works by resident
artists from the Sloss Furnace. Artists include Erik
Johnson, Allen Peterson, Matt Eaton, Elizabeth
Kronheld and Matthew Wicker. Also, sculptures by Jim
Buonaccorsi, Chris Fennell, John Raulerson, Matthew
Wicker, Beth Steele, David Jones, Terry Glispin and
Dylan Neuwirth.
LYNDON HOUSE ARTS CENTER "Full House," an
exhibit by members of the five art groups that call
the Lyndon House home: the Athens Fibercraft Guild,
the Cotton Patch Quilt Guild, the Athens Art
Association, the Lyndon House Arts Foundation, the
Visual Arts Guild (Loef Gallery). Through Aug. 19.
MARRAKECH EXPRESS Assorted works that embrace
wood textures, from finely crafted, ornate walking
staffs to religiously-themed paintings by Jan Fink.
