“Twilight Delirium’’
Tasty World
When Athenian stop-
rockers Je Suis France were
asked to play a house party
with their friends in the
now-defunct Hi-Fi Mastodon,
no-one expected it to turn
into an annual event—the
party fell on the same day
as the Twilight Criterium,
thus was born the Twilight
Delirium.
Now in its fourth year,
the Delirium is a show dedi
cated to fun, booze and a
rush-to-the-head dose of
noisy rock and rolL The
second year of Delirium-induced, uh, delirium took place at the Ultramod Compound, and this is
the second year Tasty World's played host.
The lineup this year: Divorce, Jason Griffin's new band since the break up of Halfula, kicks
things off a little after 10 p.m., and then out-of-towners Panthers take the stage at 10:45 p.m.
The irreverent comedy duo Triple Velcro (Michael Bryan and Chris McElveen) rock the crowd at
11:30 p.m., then comes Kindercore's star-eyed boys Paper Lions, and the France (who, come to
think of it, should really change their name to Je Suis Freedom—y'know, support the troops and
all) wraps things up with a drunken din at 1 in the a.m., when they'll introduce a special guest
who'll only be announced the day of the show. The France's DJ Hammond tells Flagpole: "Crazy
ass drunken times ahead!" and we have to wonder if that means drunken times which are crazy-
ass, or ass-drunken crazy times. Cycle over to the show on the corner to discover what it truly
means to be French. [CH]
