Felicity Combs (piano, vocals) and
Chris Combs (guitar) play easygoing,
sincere and upbeat pop songs. The
name of their debut EP is Everyone.

(Betsy Franck & the Bare Knuckle Band,
ex-Grand Fury) debuts his new act
backed by much of his oid band Grand
Fury—Matt Stoessel. Billy Rhoton and
Fritz Gibson all play in Lake City these
days, and Taylor Sproull holds it down
with Southern Bitch
THUNDERCHIEF (Nugi's Space) "We
play classic rock-influenced punk, or
punk-influenced classic rock.' says
the band, which last year wrapped
recording sessions on a debut album
“Whichever way you wanna look at it.”
New vocalist recently added, reportedly
moving things more towards the West
Coast hardcore sound.
1IMES UP! (Tasty World Upstairs)
Some ex-member: of Another Broken
Vehicle blast off with this new local
hardcore band, apparently dipping into
old-school influences like Integrity
and Warzone. The band features Blake
Skipper, Roger Strom, Patrick Tray and
Brian Switzer

(Caledonia) There's a lot to like in the
tunes of Philadelphia's Ben Daniels,
who performs with a family band called
A Sunny Day in Glasgow. Scribble
Mural Comic Journal is the name
of the new collection of eclectic pop
dreamscapes, approaching music with
an experimental tack but never losing
sight of a catchy melody. See p. 26.

from Atlanta's Adams Township, a
four-piece group dedicated to explor

a reappearance
COMMANDER CHAMELEON (Tasty
World) This keyboard-driven local
indie-rock five-piece shakes things up
and plays around with the unexpected,
incorporating punk-ish pop rock, ca
lypso, pop. rap and spacey surf mania.
The self-titled debut album is full of
both sly and sophomoric humor, a little
like a Georgia-fied Dead Milkmen.

school and country accents, many of

Belle & Sebastian and the Beatles
KITE TO THE MOON (40 Watt) Timi
Conley (Aqualove. Fuzzy Sprouts, etc.)
heads up new outfit Kite to the Moon,
handling vocals and guitar for the
noisy pop cacophony. He has recruited
drummer Andrew Hanmer, bassist Jay
Rogers and guitarist Robert Caruthers.
MATT MOORE (Georgia Theatre)
Singer, harmonica player and former
OverflO frontman Matt Moore, now
based out of Nashville, aims for a feel
good Southern sound reminiscent of
the likes of Steve Earle. Neil Young and
other classic types.
MY TEENAGE STRIDE (Caledonia)
Ears Like Golden Bats, the new one
from Brooklyn’s My Teenage Stride,
pulls on the '80s kick by borrowing
some ideas from Joy Division and
the Go-Betweens, and there’s a strong
songwriting undercurrent recalling ‘60s
efficiency that sets 'em aside from the
hipster nostalgia pack.
“LATE NITE DISCO" (Go Bar) The
house deejay spins a cool mix of disco.
New Wave and modern dance tunes for
