There's a patriotic
melody in the air. It is a 30
second non-partisan televison
commerical, produced by the
A. Phillip Randolph
Institute's Savannah Chapter.
Tune into your local televi
sion stations for this "catch
fire" public service
announcement. The theme,
"From the Ground Up"
showcases citizens from all
walks of life waking up in the
morning, discovering that "a
movement has started - From
the Ground Up!"
In August, 2008,
Chester A. Dunham,
President of the Savannah
Chapter of APRI and other
members attended the 39th
National Education
Conference in Jacksonville,
Florida. Clayola Brown,
President of the National
APRI issued a mandate that
all chapters develop a "Get-
out- The-Vote Campaign" in
their local community. Brown
also noted that in the 2004
Presidential election there
was high registration but low
voter turnout within the
African American voter pop

information websites - 2004
national elections).

Softball teams.
“April is an incredible stu

difficult one given the
increased workload. But
once the decision was made,
she has thrived academically
and socially,” says Jason
Buelterman, IB Coordinator.
When asked what moti
vates her to achieve academ

a strong desire to succeed
academically as a means of
not only securing admission
to my college of choice but
also so I can better prepare
for success in my chosen
career path."
After graduation April
plans to attend either the
Georgia Institute of
Technology or the University
of Georgia to pursue a degree
in engineering or marketing.
The Superintendent’s
