Journey to Wholness Conference set for
Saturday, November 15, Savannah Civic Center
Comcast Shares
Information On The
Broadcast Digital
Transition
The Founder Mrs. Linda D.
Pringle-Evans, president of
Pringle & Associates, LLC.
Why the Conference?
There is a powerful
essence inside of every
woman. Women deserve
happiness, fulfillment and
the opportunity to achieve
wholeness. Every woman
should live a life or purpose.
The Journey to
Wholeness is creating the
power for the journey that
leads women to becoming
better - whole. The Journey
to Wholeness provides an
atmosphere for every woman
to acknowledge “Who I
Am.” During the confer
ence we address the physi
cal, mental, financial and
spiritual existence regarding
each woman.
The juncture of the
journey may be different for
each woman but everyone is
traveling the Journey to
Wholeness, seeking “The
Road to a Better You.”
What you will gain by
attending?
The workshops will
provide information and
exercises to inspire and moti
vate everyone with a desire
to become better. Every
woman will examine herself
and identify the areas of her
life that requires attention.
During the conference
each attendee will receive a
Journey to Wholeness hand
out that will provide infor
mation and exercises to
assist the journey. The hand
out will address the follow
ing topics:
• The power of Belief
• Who I Am
• Planning Your Journey
• Action to achieve
Wholeness
We will request the
attendees to pair up with
someone who will hold them
accountable for their
Journey. At the end of each
topic, each participant will
honestly document the truth
where is she currently on her
journey relating to the topic.
Conducting the exercise will
allow everyone to examine
themselves closely and
determine if changes are
needed, what to do.
Why Savannah?
The Journey to
Wholeness is a community
event for ALL women. This
conference will enrich the
lifestyle of women in
Savannah and surrounding
areas. Our goal is to promote
the conference nationally
and to assist in increasing
travel and tourism of this
great city.
The Journey to
Wholeness selected
Savannah as the hosting city
in Georgia due to its rich his
tory. The city of Savannah
exudes the past and the pres
ent culture. During our visit
last year we were welcomed
by everyone and received
that great southern hospitali
ty. The Journey to
Wholeness wants others

across the United States to
know that Atlanta is not the
only city in Georgia that can
host national events. We
have been tremendously
blessed with the citizens of
Savannah extending their
time, assistance and coopera
tion ensuring the success of
the conference. Savannah is
tndy “the hostess city.”

As a result of congres
sional action, over-the-air
broadcast stations such as
ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and
PBS will convert to all-digital
broadcasting effective
Febmary 19, 2009. It is
expected that millions of
American households will
have to either purchase new
TVs, acquire digital convert
ers, or subscribe to cable tele
vision or another video serv
ice to watch local broadcast
television stations after that
date.
The switch from analog
to digital broadcast television,
referred to as the Broadcast
Digital Television (DTV)
Transition, is designed to free
up a large portion of the valu
able spectrum that broadcast
ers have used for transmis
sions in “analog” format so it
can be used for public safety
communications (such as
police, fire departments, and
rescue squads). Also, some of
the spectrum will be auc
tioned to companies that will
be able to provide consumers
with more advanced wireless
services (such as wireless
broadband).
Michael Daves, General
Manager, Savannah said,
“February 2009 will be here
sooner than we think. Now is
the time for everyone to get
up to speed on the Broadcast
Digital Television Transition:
what is it; what it means to
them; what they need to do.
Comcast encourages every
one to get the facts on this
important issue.”
For consumers who
have one or more analog TV
sets that receive over-the-air
broadcast stations using a
rooftop, or “rabbit ears”
antenna, knowing what kind
of TV set you own is very
important. A “digital televi
sion receiver” (i.e., one with
an internal digital tuner) will
allow you to continue to
watch free over-the-air pro
gramming using rabbit ears or
a rooftop antenna after
February 17, 2009. However,
if you have an analog televi
sion you will need a digital-
to-analog converter box to
continue to watch broadcast
TV stations on that set.
To help consumers with
the DTV Transition, the
Federal Government estab
lished the Digital-to-Analog
Converter Box Coupon
Program. The National
Telecommunications and
Information Administration
(NTIA), a part of the U.S.
Department of Commerce,
administers this program.
Every U.S. household is eligi
ble to apply for up to two
coupons, worth $40 each,
toward the purchase of eligi
ble digital-to-analog converter
boxes. Requests for these
coupons are now being
accepted. The coupons may
only be used for eligible con
verter boxes sold at participat
ing consumer electronics
retailers. Manufacturers esti
mate that digital-to-analog
converter boxes will sell from
$40 to $70 each. This is a one
time cost.
For more information on
the Digital-to-Analog
Converter Box Coupon
Program, visit the NTIA's
Web site at
www.dtv2009.gov, or call 1-
888-388-2009 (voice) or 1-
877-530-2634 (TTY).
Because Congress has allocat
ed limited funds for the
coupon program, it is possible
that not every household will
be able to receive one.
Coupons will no longer be
distributed after March 31,
2009 and will no longer be
accepted after July 1, 2009.
Consumers with analog
TVs hooked up to their local
cable system or to another
video service provider should
not be affected by the
February 17, 2009 transition
date.
