Free Adoption Webinar
Adoptions From The
Heart (AFTH), a licensed,
non-profit adoption agency,
will hold a free online webi
nar on Tuesday, April 14,
2009 at 7:00PM.
Attendees will learn about
our agency and our pro
grams.
The focus of the webi
nar will be on our African-
American and African-
American Biracial Domestic
Adoption programs.
Because we have AN
URGENT need for adoptive
families for this program, the
webinar is open to anyone
living anywhere in the U.S.,
and will be led by an AFTH
social worker who will be
available to answer any
questions.

presented with a bouquet of
roses, "simply because we
love you", stated the commit
tee.
St. Phillip's very own son,
the Rev. Samuel A. Cooper,
Jr., who is now the pastor at
Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in
Waynesboro, Georgia, deliv
ered the sermon.
Rev. Cooper preached a
soul- stirring sermon entitled
"It's Only A Test", from Matt.
4:1-11.
At the close of the pro
gram, Dr. Foster and Sis.
Judy Wilson gave remarks
and a special presentation of
an Edible Fruit Basket to two
very deserving members who
never say ‘no’ when asked to
serve their Lord or their
beloved St. Phillip Church;
they are Sis. Evelyn Brown,
and Bro.David Richards.
Sis Wilson stated that
“today was a success due
largely to the members of St.
Phillip”, and thanked them
for always answering her
call.
Dr. Foster thanked Sis.
Richards and the Loyalty Day
Committee for doing such an
outstanding job.

benefit the Savannah
Children's Choir's
Preparatory Choir and their
upcoming tour to
Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The $5 dinner includes
pasta, choice of meat or veg
etarian sauce, salad and
bread. Drinks and dessert
are also available for pur
chase.
While in Chattanooga, the
Prep Choir will host a public
performance, tour the sights,
and visit the Tennessee
Aquarium.
In other choir news, the
Savannah Children's Choir
presents former-fullback
turned opera star Keith
Miller in concert on
Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m.
at the Lucas Theater. The
SCC's 2009 Artist-in-
Residence will work with the
choir and visit local public
schools as part of his week-
long residency, sponsored in
part by the City of
Savannah.The remaining
concerts in the series are
Sunday, April 19 at 4 p.m. at
Messiah Lutheran at 1
Westridge Road on
Skidaway Island and
Sunday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at
Memorial Health's Mercer
Auditorium in the Hoskins
Center. The final concert
will also include a tribute to
graduating members.
In addition to their Spring
Concert Series, on May 21 at
7 p.m., the Savannah
Children's Choir with sup
port from the City of
Savannah will present their
artist-in-residence Keith
Miller in a free concert at the
Lucas Theater. The concert
is the culmination of a week-
long artist-in-residence pro
gram which features the for
mer football fullback-turned
Metropolitan Opera star.
Savannah Children's Choir
also offers a Summer Choral
Camp open to all musically
interested rising 2nd through
8th graders, as well as a
Mini-Choral Camp for 4-7
year olds on July 20-31 at
Savannah Country Day
School. The camp also
serves as the audition to all
children interested in joining
the choir, and the features
and End-of-Camp Concert
on Friday, July 31 at 7:00
p.m. at the SCDS's Jelks
Auditorium. Applications
