Memorial Scholarship Banquet
The second Annual
Melissa I. F. Ilugbo Memorial
Scholarship Banquet was held
on Saturday, July 10. 2010 at
the st. James A.M.E. Church
Wilson-Bostic Complex.
Funds raised from this ban
quet will be used for the
Melissa I. F. Ilugbo Memorial
Scholarship fund set up at
Savannah State University.
This scholarship was
established, in 2008 to assist
Upward Bound Bridge stu
dents in purchasing their
books during their Freshmen
year at Savannah State
University.

The keynote speaker
will be our own Sister Donna
Lynn Brock of Atlanta,
Georgia. Sister Brock grew
up in Mount Zion. As a mem
ber here she taught Sunday
School, sang in the choirs,
served as a trustee, and on
the Board of Christian
Education.
Her extensive work
experience, both within and
outside of the church, have
contributed to her wisdom in
Christian living and church
leadership. She has a sense of
urgency concerning salvation
and discipleship.
Sister Brock is blessed
to have conducted Women's
Conferences, Prayer meet
ings, Bible Studies, as well
as serving others. What truly
motivates Sister Brock is
how God has used each of
her assignments to help her
hone her ministry and live
out His Purpose for her life.

Sister Brock is a gradu
ate of Sol C. Johnson High
School. She earned a bache
lor's degree from Carlton
College in Northfield,
Minnesota, and earned a
master's degree in
Journalism, public relations
and marketing from the
University of Georgia.
Her family includes her
proud parents, Annette K and
Otis J. Brock, Jr., her brother
and sister-in law, Otis and
Nailah, and her adorable
nieces, Zuri and Zoe, as well
as the Mount Zion Church
family.
Several outstanding
participants will complete
this Women's Conference.
