Bethesda Academy Seniors Build
Habitat for Humanity Home
Bethesda Academy seniors Josh DeLong, Wyatt
Ingram, Zak Watts and Marquis Mason (1-r) recently
helped build a Habitat for Humanity home on Archer
Avenue on Savannah’s west side.
A group of seniors from
Bethesda Academy , a lead
ing private residential and
day school in Savannah for
young men in grades 6
through 12, recently helped
build a Habitat for Humanity
home on Archer Avenue on
Savannah’s westside. The
1,350-square-foot home is
located in the Summerside
community off Mills B. Lane
Blvd. Bethesda Academy
senior Marquis Mason, who
framed the roof, appreciated
the opportunity to help build
a 4-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath for a
local family in need.
“I enjoy helping people
in the community,” he said.
“This has been a rewarding
experience.”
For Bethesda senior
Wyatt Ingram, volunteering
at the Habitat for Humanity
house offered valuable
hands-on construction expe
rience.
“I like watching how
the house is built, from the
foundation to the roof,” he
said. “It’s been a very inter
esting process.”
Thrivent Financial,
Thrivent Builds and the
Coastal Empire Habitat for
Humanity joined forces to
construct the home. The
home’s new owners also par
ticipated in the construction
process. The
Habitat for Humanity volun
teer project is part of
Bethesda Academy’s ongo
ing commitment to commu
nity service. Bethesda is
