Blowin’ Smoke BBQ Sets the Stage for
Opening Savannah Jazz Festival Events
The 2012 Savannah
Jazz Festival is around the
corner, and Blowin’ Smoke
BBQ is proud to be the se
lect host venue for opening
events, beginning Sunday,
September 23rd. Blowin’
Smoke BBQ, part of Savan
nah’s Gaslight Group restau
rants, will feature an array of
events throughout the week
including multiple live music
performances, jam sessions,
and a film featuring a special
appearance by producer &
director James “Huey” Cole
man, Jr.
Produced by the
Coastal Jazz Association
(CJA), the first Savannah Jazz
Festival was held at Grayson
Stadium in October 1983.
Through twenty-six festi
vals, the CJA has exposed
thousands of individuals of
all ages and backgrounds to
America’s only indigenous
musical art form, jazz. The
2012 Savannah Jazz Festi
val is set for September 23rd
through September 30th.

was founded by Cale Hall
and Travis Sawyer in Octo
ber of 2004 in a small garden
level apartment on Tattnall
Street in Savannah, Georgia.
Since it’s opening, Creative
Approach has been awarded

Savannah by the readers of
“Savannah Morning News,”
and was the Winner of the
“Gracie Award,” presented
by the Savannah Downtown
Business Association. By of

4th Annual “JFly” Music Festival
to be Held

On Saturday, Sep
tember 22, 2012 the City of
Waycross and the “How Big
Is Your Dream?!” Founda
tion presents the 4th annual
“JFly” Music Festival with
special guest Peabo Bryson,
held at the downtown Phoe
nix Park, in Waycross, GA
from 3 - 10pm. This is a spe
cial festival that will provide
the Waycross community and
the surrounding metro areas
in southeast Georgia, with
a diverse showcase of the
best national artists that have
graced the stage alongside
Jorel “JFly” Flynn.
For the past few
years, the JFly Music Fes
tival has played an integral
role in assembling a fam
ily fun-filled environment
for the Waycross citizens to
help bring forth the vision of
JFly’s nonprofit organization
“How Big Is Your Dream? !”-
To introduce cultural music
diversity to the youth and the
community. At this year’s
festival, a local school will
be awarded and recognized
for their achievements by
demonstrating exemplary
character through leadership,
integrity, and volunteerism
within their school and com
munity.
JFly’s foundation
“How Big Is Your Dream?!
” was formed to promote,
educate, and develop minds
to excel and reach their
dreams. Throughout the past
two years, the foundation has
played an essential role in
music education, by assisting
schools in Atlanta, Decatur,
and Waycross, GA with pro
viding musical instruments,
scholarships, and mentorships
to deserving students in those
areas. Donations and contri
butions to the foundation will
be accepted at the festival or
online at www.howbigisyour-
dream.org.
The festival will feature live
performances for the entire
family, including JFly and
The Fly Trap, Eric Darius,
Marcus Johnson, Kaytee
Burgess, Jade Novah, Mel
vin Miller, Ryan Kilgore, and
special guest Peabo Bryson.
