Savannah Native Adds “Power”
To Starz Drama
Omari Hardwick
Richard Law Talks Art
Starz announced
that Omari Hardwick has
been cast as the lead in “Pow
er,” an hour-long STARZ
Original drama series execu
tive produced by Curtis “50
Cent” Jackson and created
by Courtney Kemp Agboh
(“The Good Wife”), who
will serve as executive pro
ducer and showrunner. Mark
Canton (300, 300: Rise of an
Empire, Escape Plan), Ran
dall Emmett (End of Watch,
2 Guns, Lone Survivor) and
David Knoller (“Big Love,”
“Camivale”) are executive
producing in association with
CBS Television Studios.
Hardwick will play
James “Ghost” St. Patrick,
a wealthy New York City
nightclub owner who caters
to the city’s elite. He wants to
build an empire, turn the club
into a Fortune 500 business,
but there’s just one problem:
he is living a double life.
When he is not in the club, he
is the kingpin of the most lu
crative drug network in New
York for a very high-level cli
entele. His marriage, family
and business all become un
knowingly threatened as he is
tempted to leave his criminal
life behind and become the
rags-to-riches businessman
he wants to be most of all.
“Omari is an actor of
incredible range and versatil
ity,” said Starz Managing Di
rector, Carmi Zlotnik. “When
we met Omari, we knew he
had all the tools needed to
play such a complicated and
complex character. We look
forward to him bringing
Ghost to life on the screen.”
Hardwick’s previous
film credits include: Sparkle,
For Colored Girls, Kick Ass
and The A-Team. He has also
appeared in several televi
sion series, including: “Dark
Blue,” “Breakout Kings” and
“Saved.”
The first season of
“Power” will be eight, hour-
long episodes and begins
filming later this fall. It is ex
pected to premiere on STARZ
in 2014. Starz retains all
global distribution and home
entertainment rights to the se
ries.
The artist Richard
Law will present a Gallery

the 12-week campaign will
be used to support volunteer
recruitment, management
and advocacy of children in
the child welfare system. As
community partners in the
child welfare system, CASA
volunteers increase abused
and the landscape of the low
county of Georgia and South
Carolina. Law said that this
body of work represents a
unique quality of his artist
perspective which signifies
diversity. “These pieces rep
resent everyday emotions
and feelings that people tend
to experience in their daily
lives that come from differ-
and neglected children’s ac
cess to services, promote
safety, and advocate for time
liness and permanency for
children involved in juvenile
court proceedings. CASA
volunteers are independent
advocates and provide indi
vidualized attention for chil-
ent backgrounds”, said Law.
He further explained that his
pieces display everyday task
in a meaningful presentation
utilizing rich and textured
colors. “The more I painted,
I began to gain a passion for
landscapes and southern sty
listic scenes which lead me
to create a diverse collection
that take you deeply into the
mind and thoughts of Richard
Law,” Law stated.
The exhibition, now
open through September 6,
and gallery talk are present

Department of Cultural Af

open to the public. Programs
are supported in part by the
