Pastor Anniversary Sunday
Pastor Terrance L. Burrell, Sr., of Connor’s Tem
ple Baptist Church, located at 509 West Gwinnett Street,
Savannah, Georgia 31401, will be honored by the congre
gation on Sunday, January 10, 2016. The day has been des
ignated Pastor Anniversary Sunday.
The theme for the day will be “Honoring Our Pas
tor with Overwhelming Love,” Scripture Proverbs 3:1-6.
The event is to give recognition to Pastor Burrell for out
standing service as a pastor and leader. Pastor Burrell came
to Savannah in 2012 and since then has earned the respect
of the community as a dedicated leader.
The Special Sunday Service will feature a message by Rev
erend
Aaron M. James, Sr., Pastor of First Bryan Mis
sionary Baptist Church of Savannah at 10:00 A.M. and a
message by Reverend Da’Henri R. Thurmond, Sr., of St.
Paul C.M.E. Church of Savannah at 3:00 PM.
The public is invited to attend this glorious occa
sion.

The first two weeks of January’s calendar is as
follows: Rites of Passage (first of many to come ) will begin
Friday, January 8, 2016 beginning at 5:30 p.m. All boys’
ages 6-15 years of age is invited to attend. Teaching re
spect, being responsible for their actions, manners, etc. Bro.
Ulysses Jackson is the director. On Saturday, January 10th
at 10:30 a.m. will be their Installation of 2016 Officers.
This is an invitation for your attendance at the
26th Twelve-Night Revival Service on Tuesday, January
11th beginning at 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church, 418
West 38th Street. Their very own Pastor Richard L. Hall,
Sr. will be the speaker and Pastor Alan O’Neal of Union
Skidaway Baptist Church will be the lecturer.
First Annual Women’s
Healthy Start Health Fair
House of Hope International Deliverance Minis
try Women of Influence would like to invite the community
to their First Annual Women’s Healthy Start Health Fair on
January 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. This is a tree
event and open to the public. Their purpose and goals for
this event are to bring health awareness to the local commu
nity. They will have several organizations sharing informa
tion on diet, nutrition, mental health, breast cancer aware
ness, and more. They will have on-site Blood pressure and
glucose screenings, massages, and tree giveaways! The
event takes place at 2409 Waters Ave, Savannah, Ga 31404
The guest speaker will be Yolandra Shipp with her
inspiring testimony on surviving breast cancer.

Bethel Church Anniversary
Pastor Jerome William Baker and the Bethel
Church Family are inviting the Coastal Empire and fellow
churches to come and help celebrate this marvelous mile

Mourns the Loss of
Bishop Ernest Kelly
Bishop Ernest Kelly was bom March 11, 1929, he was
the fourth child of the late Bishop James and Mother Pearl
Stevens Kelly. He attended the Liberty County Public
Schools. He also attended Milton Solomon Bennett Bible
Institute and The International Bible Institute & Seminary
in Orlando FI.
Bishop Ernest Kelly was destined and designated to be
a General in God’s Souls Saving Army. The Lord knew
that he would need the most anointed and devoted mate to
support him in his mission from God. God with his in
finite wisdom joined Ernest with his 1 st blessing of love and
marital support when he met and married the lovely Bessie
Heyward in 1949. She was the woman next to the man who
began his commission from God and she championed with
him as he followed the path God set. From this amazing
union they were blessed with two daughters Ernestine and
Verdie (Brenda), 4 sons Marvin, Jerome, James and Ernest
(Leon). This magnificent team worked diligently in the
Gospel until the Lord called Bessie home to rest from her
labor in 1980.
Bishop Ernest Kelly assignment was not completed yet.
He had many more years to go and God again in His match
less wonders knew that he would need support. His type
of commissioned required the same type of marital support
from a mate who could see the vision as Bessie did. God
being and wise & loving God joined Ernest with Mollie
Jones Washington and they continued to carry out the com
mission of God. From this union there were two daughters
Leesa and Sabrina and four sons Frederick, Eric, Rafael
and Cedric. This team worked together in God’s army until
the Lord called Bishop Ernest Kelly home to rest from his
labor. Early Thursday morning December 31, 2015, Bish
op Ernest Kelly was given his final orders: Come on home
and take you well-deserved rest, you fought a Good Fight,
You stayed faithful, you have Finished your race; Job Well
Done!
The Heavenly Greeters that was praising God he made it
was: His Parents - Bishop James and Mother Pearl Kelly,
His beloved - Mother Bessie Kelly, His Children - Jerome
(Ronnie) Kelly and Verdie (Brenda) Roundtree, His Sib
lings- Robbie Lee, Gertrude, Naomi and Mary, a host of
family and saints.

Law - Iona Kelly; Special daughters: Catherine Robinson,
Gwendolyn Johnson, and Cassandra Jones; God-children
- Dorothy Adams, Donelle Lee, Georgia Brown, Sandra
Johnson and Patricia Harris-Jones, He was Surrogate Fa
ther to children of the late Deacon Freddie Sledge, Loving
Nieces and Nephews, countless Spiritual Children a host of
family members saints and friends.
The local and jurisdictional celebration of life
will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the
main Sanctuary of St. James Community Church of Christ
Holiness Unto the Lord, Inc., 1140 Holmestown Road in
Midway, GA. The National Home Going Celebration will
be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12 Noon in the St.
James Sports Center Gymnasium. The Most Reverend Mo
ses A. Lewis, Chief Celebrant and Eulogist.

Pastor Lolita L. Hickman, along with the offi
cers and members of Trinity Baptist Church of Savannah,

Trinity Baptist Church of Savannah, Georgia came
forth from a seed planted by God in the heart of Reverend
Lolita L. Hickman, M. Div. After serving in several minis
terial capacities. Rev. Hickman received the urging of the
Holy Spirit to “plant a new church”. With much prayer and
guidance from the Triune God—the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit, planning for the church began, and Trinity Bap
tist Church of Savannah, Georgia was officially incorporat
ed on October 22, 2012. Trinity held its Inaugural Worship
Service at 11:00am on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Since that
time, God has abundantly blessed Trinity above what we
could ever ask, think or imagine! We are compelled to give
Him the honor and praise that He so richly deserves.

her ability to exhibit good leadership, counseling,
reaching, and preaching skills that will draw others
to Christ, He or she must possess (he ability to
spiritually fulfill the needs of the congregation (
i.e. prayer, officiating weddings and funerals,
baptizing converts, etc,) flic candidate should
have a passion for the youth possess a heart for the
people, and lead with sound bibtlical doctrine
according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus lt6-9. The
