Adam Hortman was working on some of the machinery ot his mill, he had the fore finger of his left hand broken. Hanes, with bis family, has moved from Jonesboro to this piece, Wo are always proud to welcome such citizens to our community. The telegraph poles are being raised on this side of Culioden. Knoxville will contiuue to spread herself. Our Hickory Grove correspondent speaks disparagingly of Knoxville’s cotton market. Ho has been away from town several weeks, and is not up with the times. We liSjVe a cotton market as good as that ot Macon, and some of onr merchants offer to. sell goods as low as they can be bought auywhere in Midd’.e-Georgia. Knoxville marches onward. Mr. Crawford Parish, a prominent mer chant of Reynolds, was in town this week looking about with fi view to ing at Knoxville. Rev. A. C. Wellons wax elected pastor for the Baptist church at Knoxville for next year, by the church hist Sabbath. Mr. J. L. Wilkes was churchclerk. Married On yesterday, Air. J.
