Mr. B, Genover of Elkton, Fla., has
sold a large tract of fine farming lands
at Elkton, Fla., to Mr. E. E. Bass
of Milledgeville, Ga. The tract con
tains 570 acres of which a great deal
is improved. The parcel includes the
ten-acre potato field that yielded such
an abundant crop two years ago. It
lalso includes a number of small build
ings. Mr. Bass proposes to develop
the property and will dispose of it in
lots suitable for farming. He intends
to settle the property with practical
farmers. The property is one of the
best for farming purposes in the state
and in the hands of the new owner
will soon be producing big crops. While
the bulk of it is unimproved, the fields
that have been planted gave ample
evidence of fertility. 'With a small
‘colony of energetic and intelligent far
mers they can do well. - For a nucle
us Elkton should make rapid strides
and in time rival its sister town, Has
tings. Potatoes have been grown at
Elkton with a success not supposed
anywhere and other crops grow with
equal success. The sale is one of the
largest that has been made in farm
property for some time. It may make
the dawn of a new and prosperous
era in that section. Mr. Bass will be
a most desirable acquisition to the
county and will aid in the work of de
veloping it. Mr. Bass intends to con
vert his mammoth stock of merchan
dise in Milledgeville, Ga., into cash
as fas as possible in order to devote
more of his time to his Florida prop
erty. He wishes to state to the pub
lic that he Wltt sell everything con
sisting of dry goods, shoes, hats, no
tions, etc.,, at cost, sale to start at
once. i
