Traveler walking for
Jesus through state
Bv Tohey Jolley
Home Journal Slatl
He is dressed in wtiite robes. He
carries a large walking stick. A wood
en cross dangles from his neck and
stones encircle his neck with one
word, Jesus. Dust covers his well
worn shoes.
Neal Thompson passed through
Perry Sept. 28—13 days after begin
ning his trek to strength his bond and
his faith in Jesus.
“I am a Christian. God says to go
out into the world to profess your faith
and I will profess your faith to the
angels in heaven," said Thompson. To
Thompson, that is reason enough to
walk and preach to those willing to lis
ten.
Thompson began his journey in
St. Louis, Mo. He is heading to Jack
sonville, Fa., along the old route
through Hawkinsville.
“God loves a person who travels.
He can work with your spirit along the
journey," said Thompson. Thompson
said while he never hitch-hikes, peo
ple along his path have offered rides.
He said shelter and food are often
given as well.
The Lord does provide," said
Thompson. He said the Christian net
work across the country enables him
to ‘sleep in motels most often, though
I have no problem finding a nice soft
grassy area to rest my head.
‘I believe the more that is given to
you, the more that is required from
you. It is a wondrous blessing that I
have received from God. He has
given me strength," said Thompson.
Thompson continued along his
journey with “Bless you."
