The city of Perry, in con
j unction with Georgia Gov
ernor Roy Barnes, has pro
claimed Nov. Mas Georgia
Retired Educators Day.
Barnes' proclamation
stated over 43,000 retired
educators have devoted their
time, energies, and talents to
public education, providing
the educational development
of millions of outstanding
Georgia citizens.
These educators continue
to be a major source of
insight and direction for the
state. Many retired educa
tors return to the classroom
as assistants or substitute
teachers.
For over four decades, the
Georgia Retired Educators
Association has dedicated its
efforts to improving the wel
fare of retired educators and
ias y. .Aided opportunities
for them to become involved
in community activities.
One way the local affilia
tion intends to become
more involved in the contin
ued improvement of the
community is to set up a
