Commission (GFC) 14th Biennial
Georgia Fire Equipment Show will
be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at
the Georgia National Fairgrounds
and Agricenter in Perry. The latest
firefighting technology will be pre
sented, including demonstrations of
advanced equipment, accessories,
and static displays. This 2005 fire
show will feature more than 40
exhibitors, ranging from heavy
equipment and helicopters to safety
exhibits. Ticket prices are $8 in
advance, and $lO at the door.

commissioners to tour his
other subdivisions, like
Eagle Springs, before mak
ing their final decision.
McGlamry’s plans for the
development call for three
separate subdivisions within
the development with lot
sizes ranging from 9,100 to
11,200 square foot. He told
the commission that his
homes will be in the
$200,000 range, and will be
designed for retirees.
McGlamry said he would
submit his request with a
new set of plans by the com
mission’s next meeting June
13. If approved, a final deci
sion on whether the proper
ty will be annexed and
rezoned will be made by the
Perry City Council.

operated on a reimburse
ment basis. Once local gov
ernments complete training
or purchase approved equip
ment, they may then submit
requests for repayment.
To qualify for the grants,
requests must align with the
State Strategic Plan. In
addition, local applicants
must agree to exercise the
Incident Command System
in compliance with the
National Incident
Management System at the
scene of emergencies or dis
asters. All applicants are
also required to provide
mutual aid response in the
event of a real or suspected
terrorist incident and to
meet reporting require
ments established in the
grant contract.
