Rotary
program

Sixty-seven students
attended this year’s Rotary
Youth Leadership Awards
program June 9-12 at South
Georgia College in Douglas,
including two Northside
High School seniors, Heidi
Hannah and Angela Moody.
According to District 6920
KYLA Program Coordinator
Valerie Webster, the stu
dents attending the four-day
event represented 35 Rotary
clubs in District 6920. There
were eight classes and three
banquets. Class topics
included ethics, personality
styles, communication styles
and global issues. Keynote
speaker of this year’s pro
gram was humorist Roddy

held its installation banquet June 20.

and a former Miss Georgia.
Currently she hosts the
“Top 20 Country
Countdown” for Great
American Country cable tel
evision network and stars in
ABC TV’s “All My Children”
as Krystal Carey.
She has also starred on
“The Bold and the
Beautiful” and had an inter
national hit, “Tired of
Loving This Way,” with
country music superstar
Collin Raye.
Her debut solo CD
“Something Beautiful” was
released in May.
Sharing the stage with her
will be classmate and friend,
Sebie Lacey of Stillwater.
The stadium will open to
the public at 6 p.m.
Festivities will begin at
7:15 p.m. with the Houston
County Honor Band, com
posed of select musicians
from the county’s four high
schools.

spread across the world,”
said Palmer. “Our district
adopted this program in
1989. For the first couple of
main stage show starting at
8 p.m.
The stadium bleachers
offer plenty of seating, how
ever, attendees are welcome
to bring lawn chairs or blan
kets for seating in the
infield.
Food and beverages will be
available at concession
stands. Bags and containers
are subject to search since
alcoholic beverages are pro
hibited at this family event.
“This may be the best

vance in the state,” said
Allen Tatman of the Warner
Robins Civitan Club.
“Thanks to the generosi
ty of local businesses, and
the talent of the Band of the
U.S. Air Force Reserve, we
have a tremendous celebra
tion, featuring special guest
artists and a fireworks dis
play that gets bigger and
better every year. Bring the
kids, and enjoy a great
show.” Tatum said.

inside the stadium as the

Individuals chosen to attend
the all-expense paid seminar
discuss leadership skills and
learn to put those skills into
practice.
The Warner Robins Noon Lions Club
meets at Ryan’s Family Steakhouse at
noon on the second and fourth
Mondays of each month. The club’s
board of directors meets at noon on the
first Monday.
The club recently marked its 30th
year.
Admission is free. Gates
open at 6 p.m. Fireworks
will go off at approximately
9:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged
to bring blankets and lawn
chairs and to arrive early.
Coolers are permitted and
subject to search; pets, glass
containers and alcohol will
not be allowed. There will be
food for sale and free local
entertainment, including
Ceylon Bleu.
