Revenue and Finance Policy
meeting recently at the Blue
Willow Inn in Walton
County.
Sanders, along with more
than 40 other county com
missioners and officials
from across the state, met to
discuss issues affecting
Houston and other Georgia
counties. Topics discussed
included finding alterna
tives to property tax that
may reduce the financial
burden to property owners,
limiting tax exemptions for
special interest groups to
ensure everyone pays equal
ly, and more efficient ways
to finance local government
services.
“It is critical for our coun
ty officials to have an active
level of involvement in
ACCG’s policy committees,”
said ACCG Executive
Director Jerry Griffin. “As
we develop our policy plat
