Tucker, Lindsey elementary schools win awards

Tucker and Lindsey elementary
schools have been selected as this year’s
recipients of the Jeff L. Townsend
Awards, which are given by the
Children’s Trust Fund Commission.
The awards recognize outstanding
commitment to the implementation of
the Second Step Program. The Second
Step Program is a social skills training
program that teaches children to make
good decisions about behavior and helps
them understand their feelings and the
feelings of others.
The award was to be presented on
Tuesday at the “Power of Prevention”
luncheon held in conjunction with the

County Grand Jury, in the
name of the citizens of
Georgia, charge and accuse
the following suspects with
actions contrary to the laws
of the state, the good order,
peace and dignity thereof.
The names below have been
accused and charged but not
found guilty or not guilty of
the crimes.

was indicted on charges of

a dramatic rise in student achievement.

increase in test scores and a decrease in
the number of discipline referrals, par

Perry PD searching for hospital bandit

HHJ Staff Writer
The Perry Police
Department is searching for
an unidentified man who
allegedly posed as a doctor at
the Perry Hospital to steal
change from a vending
machine Sunday evening.
According to a police report,
video from security cameras
at the doors of the hospital’s
emergency room show an
unidentified man wearing a
white skull cap, dark pants
and a white jacket entering
and leaving the ER at around
the time the theft occurred.
The man was reportedly
wearing the same type of jack
et doctors wear while on duty
at the hospital.
A security guard at the hos
pital reported that the rob
bery happened sometime
between 7 p.m. and 11:35 p.m.

She said counselor Melissa Thompson
brought the program to Tucker, and

everyday situations.
The awards also recognize the out
standing accomplishments of personnel
from each school who have engaged par
ents and children by using Second Step
principles.

Police believe the suspect
used a drill or a punch to
break the locks of a change
machine and a Pepsi machine
in the hospital’s snack room.
They do not know how much
money was stolen, but two
other snack machines and a
coffee machine were also dam
aged.

made no arrests in the case.
According to the report, the
five machines belong to Five
Star Food Service of Warner
Robins.
