DECATUR - Two more
lawsuits have been filed
against Fulton County
Sheriff Myron Freeman
and some deputies in the
courthouse shootings that
left a judge and three oth

The new cases were
filed Thursday in DeKalb
County State Court, where
complaints brought by the
survivors of Judge Rowland
Barnes, court reporter
Julie Ann Brandau, Fulton
County deputy Sgt. Hoyt
Teasley and federal agent
David Wilhelm also were
filed.
The latest lawsuits were
filed by Susan Christy and
Gina, Clarke, who were
case managers for Judge
Barnes.
The lawsuits echo many
of the same complaints
brought up in the four
other lawsuits. Christy

in their lists of defendants

Attorney Randy
Ebersbach, who represents
both women, said while the
required notice of intent to
sue seeks $3 million for
each, the lawsuit wants a
jury to decide how much
each woman should be
compensated for medical
bills and their continued
suffering.
“The purpose is to com

what they’ve been through
and to encourage the sher

to provide for their medi

He said the county should
pay for the cost of their
medical expenses and that
the two should not have to
use their health insurance
benefits, nor take care
of the required copay, to
cover their costs.
